The Touchwiz seems to be a desirable phone, but I have a question for you: can you make skype/voip phone calls with it? Can you please let me know? :>

I notice that there have been comments on slow SMS sending speed by a few users.
Is that true? Any F480 users out there who beg to differ? Does it come with a Qwerty texting option?
This is a gorgeous phone and I am seriously considering getting it, but if it is really slow in sending SMSes, it could be a pain...

Don't think anyone's mentioned this before, but handy hint when you're texting: if you use T9 and press space before selecting the right word, you don't have to go back and delete and start again, just scroll back to the end of the word and press 0. This will highlight the word again so you can continue adding letters or changing it.
I've also found taking the phone off 3G stops it dropping calls, just have to change it to UMTS when using the internet.
And be careful downloading games, as the few I've bought aren't designed for touchscreen, and samsung add two lines of buttons at the bottom of the screen which house scrolling arrows and the keypad, but they block the bottom bit of the game screen, often hiding important information! Can make games unplayable.

Omnia or F480 is not a matter of better or not. F480 is a very very very easy to use mobile with a nice package of features and with some limits ( wifi and GPS are failing) Omnia ia a high end windows mobile full packed but not so easy to use,bigger end more expensive. Depends what you want to do with the mobile. You want to make calls, send message, read e-mail and listen to music ? F480 is yours. You want a professional use of the mobile ? Go Omnia

dom, 27 Aug 2008how does this phone compare overall versus the i990 OMNIA?umm, about ur question, omnia is definitely better...it has a better camera, a better UI...they stand in a diferent class, so i think its normal that omnia is much way better, its much more expensive too, rite??? ^^ but this phone is gorgeous, craving it so much

been testing my new f480, converting avi to 3gp in a free program called super from erightsoft....
for the best quality and smoothness convert to "s/e 3gp" and use xvid for the codec
video bitrate - 1008kbs
fps 15 - i no this seems a low framerate but trust me it runs in sync and smoothly any higher and it lags.
aac audio codec option
audio 48000 - 2channel - 128kbs
only thing is the video title is constantly on, any ideas how to get this to dissapear so we can just see the video????

Have had many phones, many 3G phones, although this is my 1st touchscreen phone. I too was shocked by the size of it, and how sleek and finished it looked. It weighs nothing and the camera quality is amazing. The installing of java apps is easy through the browser and costs next to nothing. Have many apps and games, including gbc emulator, monopoly, etc. etc. Headphones included are in-ear headphones, and really sound amazing with the radio/mp3 player which brings me to my next point. The MP3 player - is truly...astonishing. It works so well, sound quality is amazing. Video playback is amazing, fullscreen landscape, brilliant quality and with headphones, sound unreal.
All in all this is an amazing phone, and am so glad I got it.

got this phone a few weeks ago and i love it! My first touch screen phone so i was a bit optimistic but it is really easy to use. i can actually text quicker with this than my old phone! the design is nice, before it arrived i was expecting a brick but its actually quite small and sophisticated. the widgets come in useful, in mine i have my internet, my mp3 player, time and date, events, birthdays, and games. Also, you dont have to worry about it going off when in your pocket/bag as it is heat sensetive so it will only respond to your finger. Camera quality looks a bit bad on the phone but when uploaded to a pc or printed the qualityis much better. The only problem i had with the phone was that when i first got it and put my sim in, all my contacts uploaded to handset surname first, so i had to go through and edit them all, but apart from that no problems so far.

Annoying facts about this phone:
1. Texting can be difficult.
2. Sending message can take so long. It sucks.
3. Recent texted contacts could not be deleted.
4. Some redunduncy on the phone book in menu.
5. The earphone socket is on the side.
6. Scrolling can miss your target.
I wish I opted for the nokia E71 instead.

I am sad that whenever I write a text message instead of making a space i press "Ok" EVERYTIME!! and it goes back.. The OK button should've been somewhere else.
And besides that, why does it take so long to send a message??? :(

the f480 is a brilliant fone, with regards to the front camera.. its purely for video calling and doesn't just work ordinarily without making a video call.. the pictures look blur when taking photo shots..but trust me, well taken shots(with face detection in range) when transferd to your pc or laptop come out incredibly clear
