I have got the unit a week ago. The main advantage is the keyboard and the low SAR rate of this phone. Resolution is so bad that my eyes are getting tired plus the application icons appears too small in the screen compare to Samsung Icons in phones without Android which have the same screen size.

i am using tis cell phone from last 2 weeks... my experience is awsome......... it has all those things in it which a phone lover needs... the thing which is missing... is live wallpaper and flash support.... samsung shud update it......i request to them..... ...
wifi runs supperfast.. no problems yet... using 3g toooo.... in short very much satisfied with G551

Co... moreDude go for optimus one bcoz 551 is having 256 RAM, with
240 X 400 pixels also it doesn't support Live wallpaper & Keyboard is not finger friendly. on other hand optimus having 512 MB RAM with HVGA (320 X 480)display and support to Live wallpaper and scratch resistance body is good choice also it may be support Adobe flash 10.2 when it Release.

This is a good phone in this segment.It has qwerty keyboard with high sensitive touchscreen. Camera is not very good.Still has autofocus and many modes.Sound quality is very good (in headset excellent).Battery is ok but not up to the expectation. Strong challenger of Nokia C6(though C6 has good camera with flash)

Confused btw LG OPTIMUS ONE & SAMSUNG GALAXY i551..
I would like to go for Lg Optimus but it doesn't support Flash player. Is there a way that we can install Flash in Lg Optimus? Cuz i browse lot of flash websites..
Is SAMSUNG GALAXY i551 is better than Lg Optimus One?

I just got a new Galaxy 551. My phone hangs when playing video. I tried running FLV videos and the videos from Live TV on a 1Mbps internet connection.
Does anybody know of a solution to this problem ?

i have been using samsung galaxy 551 for a week now.The major shortcomings of this phone are that there is poor internal memory,so android market can't be fully utilised,becoz some applications from the market get saved to internal memory.Moreover there is no secondary camera for video calls.RAM is only 256 MB.There should have been atleast 512 MB RAM.After installing third party software,the phone slows down a bit.No document editor.Internal memory should have been atleast 1 GB.Rest of the phone is rocking.The froyo experience is pleasant.
Don't know whether the phone has flash support or not.I feel there is no flash support. Samsung should rectify this weakness,otherwise 3G can't be fully enjoyed.
Overall is seriously recommend this phone for anyone looking for a good budget smartphone.
