i purchased this cell last year in feb.. since then it is working great..recently i upgraded it to gb 2.3.6 xwkph europe version via odin, believe me gb is really very stable than froyo on every ground, no problem with battery backup also.
ppl using froyo on this cell plz do upgrade it to xwk
ph2.3.6. & see the performance. its very easy to upgrade dont worry about bricking.. IT WONT..!!! takes hardly 2 mins.. :)

Anonymous, 29 Jun 2012guys can u plz tell me how to download videos for this phone ? Take out the sd card put it into ur pc then put some vids on it or go on browser with wifi download a vid then it auto ends up in up files/downloads or just download kies air then connect with ur pc then upload vid from pc to phone wirelessly. I have th phone awesome

there is no official version of Gingerbread available for ASIA..
but you can update to European version.

i updated the phone with help of Odin.....
first i downloaded the 2.3.6 from Samsung-Update.com & .ops file from google.
& it took only 4-5 ,mins to update the phone.

I'm from India & i just updated my phone with Android 2.3.6.
performance has improved, even battery lasts long for 3 days. Enjoying the Gingerbread experience.

I have had my galaxy551 for a year and during that year when plugged into the car or house charger most times it will not charge,has been sent back to company to be fixed but only work for a time,lets me down every time I need it at its'most nececcesy, now I have to take out the battery,rub the points,and put back in.Battery life doesn't last long.Feel there must be a problem between software and battery.Bell Aliant will not stand behind the warrenty,even tho I know its a month over,the problem has been all year.You are stuck with this phone because you are in a three year contract which would cost over $400.00 or $300.00 plus lesser price on a new phone .I have to wait two more years to get rid of this phone .

I am really enjoying this phone. The keyboard is very easy to use. It charges very well, and the charge lasts a long time. Very durable phone...Very easy to move around with all the apps, I am a first time cell phone owner. I would recommend this phone to anyone.

jake, 02 Jun 2012does this phone have speaker phone capability.....if so....... morewhen you receive a call there is an option when you answer to put them on speaker on the lower right hand corner. You just have to tap the speaker key.

Just bought this phone. Pretty good so far. I only have to charge it once a week. But I have and issue syncing it to my computer. Kies will not support it. Do you need to install an SD card before you try to connect to Kies?
