I saw below someone did a great job summarizing these arguments, but it’s time for an updated version:

Small phone lover: Samsung, please give us an affordable compact phone.
Small phone hater: Shut up, it won’t happen, so quit whining and wake up to reality.
Small lover: I respect your right to have a big phone, why won’t you respect my right to ask for a small one?
Small hater: Because you’re living in a “fantasy” world where you get “whatever” you want and the “perfect” phone. Know your place. You don’t even deserve a phone.
Small lover: Wow! So you’re a hater because you won’t allow me to advocate for what I want. Only what you want matters.
Small hater: How dare you call me “hater”? Why are you imposing your opinion on me, can’t you respect other people?
Small lover: Uh… Are you really so self-unaware? Why don’t you read this conversation again.
Small hater: RAH, RAH, RAH! You make the internet so hostile!

These terms were not used just for having a different opinion. You don't read much of what you're commenting on. Why am I not surprised?

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2024And now you decide who "deserves" a phone or not.... more"And now you decide who "deserves" a phone or not. Talk about knowing one's place..."

Beggars can't be choosers, simple as that.

"And no one asked for the "perfect" phone (contrary to your attempt at misrepresentation), just one that doesn't fatigue their hands and affordable."

The problem is that they don't exist, and begging won't get these companies to listen and make small affordable phones. Even if they do get one that's small and affordable, people will then have other things to complain about.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2024It's become hostile due to haters who can't stand... moreThose big device users NEVER said they hate small phones, they're just saying there's hardly any cheap small phones in the market anymore, and people like you have no choice but to accept that.

Instead, you people keep resisting and misrepresenting them as idiots who hate the idea of choice. Their comments just fly over your heads like nothing. Do you even bother trying to read their comments and understand?

You want your opinions to be respected by everybody, but you can't let a single person agree with those "haters". I'm not sure if it makes you any more reasonable than them.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2024It's become hostile due to haters who can't stand... more"Jeez, why can't the haters just leave me alone? I just want more choices, that's all! The haters are self-unaware jerks who have no business being so bothered by my comments!"

Let me tell you something. No matter where you are, you're going to meet with people with conflicting opinions. Sure some people are just nasty, but several other people like myself are open for a real, friendly debate.

Attacking people who disagree with you, calling them "haters", or bringing up random stuff like "self-awareness" or "major flaw in your character" just proves you can't debate and only want to avoid criticism by deflecting them.

That's what creates hostile environments like this. Why should people have friendly discussions when you can't be friendly towards people?

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2024And now you decide who "deserves" a phone or not.... moreMore choice is always a good thing, I agree with that. Not everyone should be forced to spend more than $800 just to get a compact phone.

But at the same time, most companies no longer make affordable compact phones anymore and aren't willing to in the future. As consumers, we don't have the power to influence these companies' decisions, especially not by constantly posting requests in a website like GSMArena to the point where other users (and probably the mods as well) get annoyed by the repetition and spam.

Really, only time will tell whether or not these companies will get back to making affordable compact phones again. No need to make this place a wresting ring because no one's opinion is 100% correct.

A35 is a decen... moreIt's become hostile due to haters who can't stand when others request that their preference be accommodated as well. Haters only want THEIR preferences to exist, and woe to anyone else who asks for additional choices. This guarantees a hostile environment.

Many people who aren't rich also want a hand/pocket friendly phone that's the size of the popular S24, but some big device users can't handle that for some very strange reason. They're going nuts.

Wow, even GSMArena is becoming hostile 😂.

A35 is a decent enough phone if you're not looking for anything extravagant.
