In Egypt, the Samsung A35 is approximately $280, making it a less attractive option. Additionally, Chinese phones are also expensive here. We don't have OnePlus, Nothing, or Google phones, and Honor phones are costly and not all models are available in Egypt.

I used the Honor 8x for five years, and the phone remained perfectly fine and inexpensive to repair. I only broke the screen twice. Recently, I bought the OnePlus Nord 4, and I love it. You might want to try something like the Honor 200 or a similar model.

nick, 29 Jul 2024Sorry, I accidentally posted my previous comment too early ... moreWell, no, of course not. It's just bad for "me" :)
I really really LOVE Pixel UI. I feel I can't adapt to anything else :(
            Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
BUT, I have to confess: A55 took better pics than 7a in dark enviroments. Almost making it look like it was day. Pixel 7a can do that too, but you have to take a 4 minute shot and have to hold the phone completely still. Yeah, I guess Tensor is pretty nice, in the end. To be honest, it's really snappy in menus, more so than the A55. But I'd like to see a "budget" Pixel 9a. That Tensor G4 does show some promise. Might even consider a 9a (if it will exist) and skip the 1st generation TSMC.

I shall summarize my previous point - just because a phone doesn't have the features or hardware you need doesn't necessarily mean it's "bad". Sales figures of last year's A54 proved that, it sold a couple hundred thousand units despite it using an Exynos processor that you hate so much.

The perfect smartphone will never exist because there is no such thing as perfection. Sigh, you might as well not buy any phone then if you think anything that isn't what you want = bad.

Exynos? Bad. Tensor? Bad. Snapdragon? Good, but Chinese phones bad.

I've tested more than 10 different $300 mid-range phones this year with Snapdragon, MediaTek, and Exynos processors and I can assure you there's virtually almost no difference with day-to-day performance between any of them. The A35 was decently snappy and is perfectly fine for everyday usage. It can get a little warm and is not too great for gaming, but I don't mind as I don't play mobile games often. The battery life was certainly better than I thought it would be, with an average screen-on-time of about 6-7 hours.

And what's this nonsense about Samsung having nothing to offer? You have all these options, from the A05, A05s, A15 4G, A15 5G, A25, A35, and finally the A55 in the budget segment with varying prices based on your budget and/or needs.

I shall repeat my previous sentence - just because a

Can't go Apple because I need Bluetooth transfers. And, at the moment, both Samsung and Google have very little to offer. A series from Samsung is bad and Tensor / Exynos are bad too. Can't afford S series from Samsung, nor regular series from Google (only a series). As I've said before: perfect smartphone for me is a Pixel 8a with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. But... it doesn't exist. :( Waiting for TSMC Messiah G5...

No use in begging for better cameras, better features, better form factors, etcetera. There is always a phone out there for someone, you just have to look elsewhere.

Judge something for what they are, not what they aren't.

Anonymous, 28 Jul 2024Pixel 7a is almost amazing compared to A55 and A35. 8a even... moreI've seen comparison videos of the A35 and Redmi Note 13 Pro. The Redmi is way better in capturing details and colors, especially during low-light. However, the camera software feels unpolished compared to the A35.

Shadowy areas tend to be underexposed and too dark, 4K videos are a jittery mess with lackluster stabilization, and there is no EIS for the selfie camera. Its ultrawide and selfie cameras also suck because they use outdated, low-end sensors, just like other Xiaomi phones.

In comparison, the A35 is still better for selfies and video recording. Redmi takes the win for the main camera only, even that still needs work through software updates.

Honor 200 does a lot better and even the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G pulls ahead. Can't forget the Nothing Phone (2a). A lot of non-flagships do better. Samsung is just average for cameras. Not saying it's unusable, it just isn't performing within the asking price. I would have traded GG Victus+ for GG 5 and a plastic frame + back for better camera. Also, why the macro camera? I don't like paying for things I don't use. Sure, other people could find it useful, but you get much better results with AF on UW sensor, if need be. Wouldn't mind a more compact form factor, as well. We're talking about a giant here, guys: Samsung. It's not a start-up or some unknown OEM. Sure, give the people what they want, but they have 5 models: A05, A15, A25, A35 and A55. All bricks! Could have made 1 model more compact, at least...

I guarantee you people, no matter how expensive a phone is, they will never be able to take mind-blowing photos because the sensors are too small. Any bigger and phones will become thicker and heavier as a result.

Just buy a $300 DSLR, you'll take much nicer photos than a $1000 flagship phone.

Tried A35 and A55 and they disappoint when it comes to camera. Samsung just isn't that great when it comes to cameras (S series is decent, though, subpar for a flagship). I'm comparing DxOMark scores more often as of late: they seem to be pretty accurate. You can't see license plates for cars more than 30 yards away (~ 30 m) with the A35. A55, barely. Pixel 7a is doing a better job, though. Not amazing, but better than A55.
