Anonymous, 07 May 2025Dude with Graphene OS Google don't collect anything be... moreDid you even read what I said? It doesn't matter what OS you're using every website including Google is going to collect data from you every time you use of their services (youtube, google search etc) and no amount of de-googling is gonna change that.

Your mobile operator also collects data from you and having prepaid card won't stop them from see what numbers you contact. The VPN will prevent them from seeing what sites you visit but who's to sat what Proton does with your data.

Custom roms are foo much of a hassle for normal people with jobs and a family. No one has time to screw around with their phone just so they can install a custom that may not even work bug free on it.

Using a custom rom will help somewhat but that doesn't stop the google search or just about any other website collecting data from you every time you use their website.

Also regarding privacy I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that your phone company and any other company you've given money to collects data from you.

By the way I don't buy Pixel just for Use Google Stock ! It's for flashing this divace with GrapheneOS and practically De Google Pixel divace . Google Play Services don't have any privilege because it's Sandboxed and don't have access to operating system .I advise Remain with Sammy it's very good! Good Luck!

I hate to break it to you but Google doesn't give a damn about your privacy. You claim I know nothing yet you're one who's freaking out because they didn't get minor security update on their old phone.

It's pretty obvious that YOU "don't understand nothing " because if you did you'd realise that a ton of people are using outdated devices and they're fine despite not having your precious march security update. If you really are that much of a privacy and security freak then you should ditch smartphones altogether and use just a dumb phone.

Is anyone else having issues with USB-C to 3.5mm jack adapter? I inserted one and I simply get a warning stating "Connected USB device is not supported" and a connected headphone then does not work at all.

People forget that android being based on Linux (more or less) makes it by default more secure than most other operating systems unless you're using a pixel phone which have bugs galore.

It's very rare for an android phone to become infected and more often than not its due to someone installing a dodgy app or clicking on some weird link.

Anonymous, 03 May 2025Stock roms on moat manufacturers phones have become stable ... more GrapheneOS has several features that help resist attacks from malware like Pegasus. Android AOSP Hardened!

**Attack Surface Reduction**: GrapheneOS reduces the attack surface by disabling unnecessary code and features, making it harder for malware to exploit vulnerabilities.

**Hardened App Runtime**: The hardened app runtime in GrapheneOS provides additional security features, such as secure application spawning and hardened libc, to prevent malware from executing malicious code.

**Exploit Mitigations**: GrapheneOS has implemented various exploit mitigations, including memory protection, address space layout randomization (ASLR), and data execution prevention (DEP), to prevent malware from exploiting vulnerabilities.

**Verified Boot**: GrapheneOS uses verified boot to ensure that the operating system and its components are tamper-proof and have not been modified by malware.

**Sandboxed Google Play**: GrapheneOS has a sandboxed version of Google Play, which isolates the app store from the rest of the operating system, making it harder for malware to spread.

**Network Permission Toggle**: GrapheneOS provides a network permission toggle that allows users to disable network access for apps, making it harder for malware to communicate with its command and control servers.

**Sensors Permission Toggle**: GrapheneOS also provides a sensors permission toggle that allows users to disable access to sensors, making it harder for malware to gather sensitive information.

These features, among others, make GrapheneOS a secure and resistant operating system against malware attacks like Pegasus.

Even most Samsung bloatware except for their own apps can be uninstalled or disabled.

Unless you're a privacy freak then you've got more to lose and little to gain from installing a custom rom. Even so called stable versions of custom roms have major problems (eg: 5g not working) which the developer(s) may or not prioritise on fixing quickly. The unknown stability of custom roms and potentially losing banking access makes them too much of a gamble.

I agree more manufacturers should allow bootloader unlocking however the attitude of the open source of community means custom roms are always going to be og questionable stability.

Your reason for wanting to update is simply because other companies already have a15 which isn't really a great excuse but if you do want faster updates and less bloat you can choose whatever other android brand or custom rom you want.

New versions of windows almost always have some kind of problem so for me personally I'd much rather stick with a more mature and stable version of android even if it is old. App compatibility and stability takes priority over updates imo.

Will Samsung prevent anyone using Android 14 or lower from making phone calls and text messages? If the answer to any if these questions is no then maybe you need to focus on more important things in life.

You complain about not having android 15 yet you don't provide a compelling reason as to why you need A15. It's seems pretty to safe to say that when you do get A15 you're probably just going to complain about ot ruining or slowing down your phone.

The number of android users affected by security vulnerabilities are few and far between. Most malware is due to people clicking on dodgy links or installing sketchy apps.
