Hey everyone
I've ran into a very unusual problem. I left my phone on grass while playing football and now it's showing moisture warning and not charging at all. The grass had little dew and game was like an hour long.
I've turned OFF the phone and also putted it to aeroplane mode, though idk if it'll help after switch off. It has been more than 24 hours and I've around 18% battery left.
After I received warning yesterday I stuffed in cotton with the help of needle in the charging port and left it overnight. (This has helped me previously in turning off the moisture warning successfully)
It didn't work this time so I got pissed and tried a more stupider method. (After 15hr) Dipped cotton in 80% ethanol and stuffed it in charging port. In a minute I realised my stupidity and pulled it out, stuffing back dry cotton. I even plugged in charger with phone switched OFF to make things worse.
Now the warning that used to come around 5 minutes after I switched ON the phone comes instantly after switching on, before even the homepage loads.
Right now I've putted the phone at an angle of 45 degree, in front on a fan in a tub full of rice and will leave it overnight.
I've tried clearing USB cache but it does nothing. Now my questions are
If any of you ran through the same, what helped you?
Since I've only 17% battery left, what would be a sensible approach?
( I can leave phone idle for a week, switched OFF. I've backup phones)
If it runs out of battery, then what?
How much would a minimal repair like this cost at authorised service Center? Also, would they open the device?
(I'm very uncomfortable with that given that they eventually mess up one thing or another if they open up phones. Might also destroy IP67. All this for not even dropping it in water?)
Could it be because I haven't updated the phone since Feb?
(I've had moisture warning only thrice, all this month. But yes phone was near moisture all the three times)
P. S.
Sorry for such a long post but I really love this device and this is the only place where I can get useful opinions.

Hands down one of the best cheaper Samsung phones out there. Superb specs and much better value.

Erxx, 07 Aug 2023It sounds as if you might have a faulty unit if your screen... moreHaven't tried a factory reset but tbh, I might just do that. Is there a way to back up my settings so I don't have to set up everything all over again? And the screen flickering only happens when I have low or no signal, the phone then tries to connect to 2g and sometimes flickers while doing a random task or making a phone call. Not a big deal, but annoying.

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2023Anyone have an answer? Can he come back or not? If the binary version is the same for the Android 12 and Android 11 Update, then you can use Odin or Heimdall to downgrade using a PC.

Kolokokoko45, 04 Aug 2023Had this phone for 8 months. It's gotten so slow recen... moreHad it since April last year and its fine (with all the latest updates)
Now, i ain't a power user, my most demanding game is TFT and new star soccer (lmao) but no lags whatsoever
The battery has obviously taken a slight hit but it still gets through the day. I may even replace it myself before going to buy another phone since it will get until Android 14 (maybe 15 if we're lucky)

2. If #1 didn't help then tried factory reset (backup first)?

It's painful but have you tried (backup first) factory reset? Before restoring settings / data try if snappiness is back.
I've been installing all Samsung updates as soon as they get released and no problems. Snappy a f*ck.

Used to LOVE this device so much.
Got it 2 years ago and it was great while it lasted.
Lasted update has caused so many issues. Half My apps crash and won't open, Spotify just no longer works at all.
Signal randomly drops and then My screen randomly flickers different colours (this has been happening for about 1½ year now when I have low or no signal) however this is getting worse now, screenshots all turn into random barcodes / qr code things on my gallery
Battery life is horrific.
Barely get a day out of it now.
Drops 50% battery in around an hour during my commute (just scroll social media nothing intensive)
Phone screen crashes for no reason and resets itself.
Camera failure randomly.
Had to upgrade my storage as it was suddenly full which it wasn't before the update.
Honestly considering upgrading my phone as its SO painfully slow now and nothing works like intended :(

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2023Anyone have an answer? Can he come back or not? No, normally. But Yes through advanced ODIN Flash Tool, if you know how to use the tool properly, one mistake can brick the phone.

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2023Wtf bro, this phone is snappy as *uck. Then maybe you can try to help me and tell me what's wrong with mine? I got barely anything on the phone in terms of apps. Some pictures and videos I've taken and I don't really use it for anything else than web browsing, emails, texts and calls.

Kobe, 05 Aug 2023What kinda mindset is this??? Why wouldn't ypu upgrade... moreIf you really own the device you wouldn't ask people to upgrade to bugged Android 13 version. Samsung doesn't want its customers to use their product satisfactorily for so long than they deem.
