You can uninstall it but it's annoying that it forces you to install apps you don't want. It's basically an ad.

Fingerprint magnet like 90% of midrange phones. 1000 nits is OK. I'd say the minimum is 800. Headphone jack is missing on 90 % of phones as well. Samsung isn't offering outside of the box, really. It's just like any other phone, but it has OneUI. Yeah, charging and bezels need improvements. Phones are pretty boring nowadays because there just isn't that much left to innovative, if you think about it. Headphone jack, expandable storage, notification LED etc. were all present in the past and OEMs slowly dismissed them. And for decent enough reasons: you got pretty good wireless earbuds to choose from, we're seeing 512 GB slowly entering midrange and most phones have AOD or Edge Lightning. It's possible we'll lose USB-C port in the future, as all phones could charge wirelessly and SIM slot, as eSIM takes over. Maybe some more under-display front cameras and... that's about it. Yup. Nothing to see here.

[deleted post]Samsung Galaxy - Samsung Telecommunications
Samsung OLED panels - Samsung Display Co., Ltd
Samsung ISOCELL CMOS sensors - Samsung Semiconductor

They are all made by different companies with different leadership, learn how conglomerate works, kid.

You've basically turned this forum into your own blog or opinion website. And anyone who dares to differ with any of your many opinions... woe onto them!

[deleted post]Here we go again with your usual "muh Chinese products bad" nonsense.

Look, I'm a Xiaomi user myself. I'm not going to pretend they're products are flawless, because they aren't. Their software is half-baked in several areas, contains ads, and updates are infrequent.

But does that mean I should regret being a Xiaomi user? Of course not, because there are workarounds for some of the problems, and I just learn to live with those flaws. Besides, they've extended their software support since last year, so their mid-range phones get at least 3 OS updates and 4 years of security patches. That's 1 year less support than Samsung's, but it's still a remarkable feat.

"That's what everyone complains about" is also a load of nonsense, because they're more than likely just a few vocal bunch you see on the internet. Not necessarily all of them are actual Xiaomi users, and you're just cherrypicking the negative comments.

I'm not saying Samsung's products are bad in any way, but you're trying too hard to deflect any and all criticism directed at you, pretending that Samsung is the only phone company worth buying from. That's called fanaticism, my man.

I like the A55 but I'm not blindly praising it like you. This is a good phone but it has some disadvantages.

Advantages = great screen, all around decent basic specs, Samsung software (subjective), looks premium (subjective), available anywhere, no ads beside pre installed apps.

Disadvantages = thick bezel, heavy, very slippery, fingerprint magnet, sharp edges make it uncomfortable to hold, a lot of pre installed apps, only 25W charging, no headphone jack, only 1000 nits peak brightness, only UFS 2.1, less ppi density.

I would still recommend it because of it's an all around decent phone that available everywhere but it clearly have some disadvantages.

You are just trying to defend this phone, its an opinion section where people right their thoughts about this phone. So there absolutely no need to reply to everyone everyday. It even look like you are entering this page everyday to reply for every single comment unless you are a Samsung sheep or a Samsung lawyer. Cause even if you like a phone, you will acknowledge its cons so that people know.

This a phone where I prefer using a case because of how slippery it is and how the edges hurt my fingers.

I had an A70 that I held with two hands, it was thinner but also felt less secure. The thickness of the A55 and the fact that it has an aluminum frame seem to me to be an advantage.

While it’... morePersonally, Samsung makes excellent flagships, but their budget/mid-range options are only decent at best, middling at worst. Where I live, other competitors are able to offer matching hardware, or maybe even better for less money than Samsung's offerings.

I don't feel like their software and longevity are anything special too. It's still Android at the end of the day no matter what UI you use, and too many software updates will end up slowing down your phone.

for me and my experience with the A55 in short, I'm not a gamer and the phone is almost excellent for its class and I would give a rating 8 out of 10 because of the bad PWM on the screen which seriously bothers me at night if it's used for a long time but during the day even in bright daylight it looks nice. It's not right that there are comments here like, the thick frame , heavy on the hand, the rear glass, the frame protrudes above the screen, and even better the glass is protected from the front impact and I like the thickness and that's why there is a choice, if you don't like it, then don't buy it, but why you criticize all the times when others like it and to spend a lot of time bothering others about what you don't like and to repeat the same things all the time

[deleted post]I forgot to mention the 1000 nits brightness. Try using the phone outdoors at noon, you'll notice the difference under the sun, and you'll see that 1800 nits is what's really usable. For indoors, though, 1000 nits is fine. :-)

And I didn't meant to buy the A35, just meant that if you a direct samung loyal then A35 will be another option!

[deleted post]ِAre you blind? Samsung does indeed make some of the best displays, but they also sell these displays to other companies, including for the iPhone Pro line. Samsung Display Co. is a separate business entity, so they create and sell displays to other companies as a business.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2024>he's blaming AMD tf? they got the best igpu in th... moreI'm not blaming AMD—Samsung is the one at fault here. They haven't optimized the AMD GPU with their processes and algorithms, which is why it's not performing well in gaming or image processing. If they had optimized it, it could have been an advantage in gaming and other tasks compared to competitors.

[deleted post]Who said it’s worse? Did you actually try it out? While it’s clearly not the best on the market, the image quality is almost the same, if not better, so there’s no significant improvement with the A55. Just check out some youtube camera tests.

Second, I never said the A55 comes with a plastic back (we know it’s glass back with a metal frame). Even if it were plastic, it would still survive, especially if you're using a case. Third, yes, Samsung claims it has UFS 3.1, but tests show it performs just like UFS 2.2!

As for heating, you’ll definitely notice it during gaming compared to competitors in this price range. I also forgot to mention the slow charging speed on the A55 (25 Watts).

If you’re loyal to Samsung, then sure, close your eyes and accept these cons as if they’re normal. But facts are facts: the A55 scores last in most specs.
