Anonymous, 23 Jul 2024Forget wishing for a compact version of the A55, I don'... moreyou can't judge by your taste because there is definitely an opinion against yours, so there are so many models and brands that you could choose according to your taste, because no matter how much a model changes, there will always be some opinion like, why isn't it smaller or lighter or a better camera etc, so choose your model because all the bad reviews are just pointless comments from people who always have something missing and it goes on endlessly, buy yourself your favorite phone, enjoy it, be happy, why all these pointless comments, do you think you are smarter than the manufacturers these toys? you are not.
And it is not directed only at you, but at all bad comments, evil prevails over people.

Forget wishing for a compact version of the A55, I don't know why Samsung have to make their budget phones so darn thick and heavy on top of having really chunky bezels. They just look outdated compared to the sleek and more modern-looking offerings from other brands.

Maybe Samsung wanted to prevent people from mistaking their A-series lineup with the S-series, since their back design is so similar between one another. So they made the A-series thicker and clunkier looking with really thick bezels.

As for why get A55 instead of A35/M35? A55 has better photo in low light, better GPU for gaming, esim in all regions, and aluminum frame.

It depends on whether you're willing to pay a little extra for that little improvement.

Just like the S24. About time to not cater exclusively to the rich. I got the Pixel 6a a few years ago (just like a couple of other commenters that I saw), since Samsung wants nothing to do with us.

Mickey, 22 Jul 2024I compare M35 to M55,A55 even if A55 has good and new exy.1... moreeSim support allows you to forget physical SIM cards, maybe this is convenient for someone, because physical cards need to be changed after some time, may not work properly or not at all. We choose devices according to our needs, and that's good. But as a Samsung A55 owner, I think this model is better than the M35 because: it has aluminum frames, victum+ glass, as you mentioned IP67 protection against water and dust , HDR10+ support, a newer and better processor, some better cameras, fingerprint sensor is built into the screen itself, not the side, I don't know about others, but for me the sensor built under the glass is more convenient, maybe not for you. This is a matter of taste. Literally, the A55 is a better model, the only better thing is that the M35 model has a larger battery capacity of 6000 mAh, but the A55 has 5000 mAh, which I think is quite a lot for today. To each his own, but for me personally, the A55 is more worthy of attention. For daily usage A55 it's much more better my opinion.

I compare M35 to M55,A55 even if A55 has good and new exy.1480 along with IP67 protection..I still prefer M35 as daily driver..
There is no change in camera all of them are capable at 4K30fps (both rear and front)
                >A55 has ESIM and nano sim support..(Who the hell someone use ESIM .nowdays?)
                >I am getting all things in M35, Even I believe perhaps in upcoming M36 we will get Exynos 1480 😁😁 ..
It will be the best phone forever

YourLocalPhoneCritic, 21 Jul 2024240Hz PWM Flickering is definitely not the worst, but many ... moreThe PWM frequency on Xiaomi and Honor phones are inconsistent, looking at reviews on notebookcheck.net

A majority of Xiaomi phones only have 120Hz PWM frequency, even the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. But the regular Xiaomi 14 is at 429Hz, and the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is at 713.5Hz.

Same thing with Honor - the budget Magic6 Lite is at 528Hz, the midrange Honor 90 is at 728Hz, while the flagship Magic6 Pro is at 360Hz. The foldable Magic V2 is the best one I've seen at 2272Hz.

Anonymous, 21 Jul 2024PWM flickering is one of the drawbacks of AMOLED displays i... more240Hz PWM Flickering is definitely not the worst, but many phones out there have already jumped to 480Hz. In fact, Xiaomi has reached 1900Hz... Honor reached 4000Hz whereas Samsung, Apple & Google are still stuck at 240Hz.

15 Pro Max is 240Hz, S23 Ultra is 240 Hz, Pixel 8 Pro is 240 Hz. Samsung improved it with the S24 Ultra & made it 480 Hz... but it's no where as good as Honor Magic 6 Pro.

I just find it funny that if you cheap out & buy an LCD IPS phone, you are not hurting your eyesight. Whereas the ones who pay $1000+ on the 15 Pro Max will end up getting more headaches, seizures & eyestrain. 💀

YourLocalPhoneCritic, 21 Jul 2024YEP, the PWM Flickering frequency is way too low on the A55... morePWM flickering is one of the drawbacks of AMOLED displays in general, but 240Hz is certainly not the worst. There are panels out there with PWM flickering as low as 120Hz, 90Hz, or even 60Hz. The lower the frequency the worse the flickering will be, and the more likely it will cause eyestrain to more people.

IPS displays don't have issue with PWM flickering. But these days, most phones that still use IPS panels are on the low-end or lower-midrange segments. Most mid-range and flagship phones these days use AMOLED as they have become cheaper to produce and more widely available.

To avoid the health side effects of PWM Flicker (such as Headaches, seizures & eyestrain) make sure you never turn down brightness to low, and never use your phone in a dim place with no ambient lighting. (You'll find more help at r/PWM_Sensitive)

Babak, 21 Jul 2024So it’s not only me,my eyes got tired after a few minutesMaybe you, guys, are spending too much time on your phone? Because the recommendations are after an hour when you are at the computer or phone, do it few minutes pause. In Samsung smartphones is screen protector or something like this, i do not remember right how it calling, but adding blue, others colors shield. I hope it helps. I do not have any problem with tired eyes and etc.

My guess is the 120hz screen. You need to get used to it. Maybe try to use 60hz refresh rate instead of 120hz refresh rate.
