I see that, sammy has stopped advancing their midrange phones. And who cares about 12gb ram on a smartphone with midrange processor and huge bezels for the standard of 2025. Not only that, they make their midrange smartphones very heavy - it's likely all planned, so you can't operate it single-handedly. You have to pay over double for this "flagship feature", lol. It has been never a better time to look for other brands in this price range.

Planned obsolescence? Lol. Only Apple products are suitable with this moniker because they hamper third-party parts/repairs, and iPhones running very old iOS versions have their internet access blocked. Samsung is nothing like that.
Outdated? When it comes to things like the display, battery capacity, charging speed, I agree. Chinese competitors are one step ahead of Samsung. But everything else? Not really, and it's not like the phone is unusable compared to the competition.
Artificially limited? What artificially limited? Samsung is literally the most widely available Android maker out there.
Unrepairable? You can take it to a repair shop or a Samsung service center and let them repair it for you. Almost all of Samsung's bar phones are repairable, it's only their foldables and accessories (Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Ring, etc.) that aren't repairable.
Unupgradeable? Since when are phones ever upgradeable to begin with? Phones are not like desktop PCs.

I have an A54. Looking at the specs, as reported so far, the *only* differences are:
1. 6.7" vs. 6.4"
2. Bluetooth 5.4 vs. 5.3
3. 45w vs 25w
Yes, you can get a 12GB version, but the A54 allows virtual memory up to an additional 8GB. I have not seen any issues running numerous apps. and occasionally freeing up memory. These companies release such tiny incremental new models every year. It's astounding.

I don't understand why A8x and A9x series didn't continue, this is still a midrange device. There is no inbetween besides FE series

Everyone says he is trusted leakers and Samsung don't mind when their A series phone gets leaked instead of S series. Samsung uses Dynamic amoled display 2X in their S series and now in 2025 they must have upgraded displays "dynamic amoled". Its a great upgrade. But don't worry, your "Fe and S" series performance is still better than A56.

Another year. Another crap. So many alternatives with same price. My last was A53 with same specs as this. Not worth an upgrade. My s21Ultra is also a crap because of the latest update, it bricks the touchscreen. No to samsung anymore!

Samsung won't use Dynamic AMOLEDs for their A series, their display were already great in this price range and it would make the FE and S series serve almost no purpose if they do so. Where did you even get these kinds of information from and no the A56 will not be equipped with a tele lens like what the dumbfounded leakers said.
A56 upgrades are only about Chipset, PD watt, camera sensor, design, size, smooth aluminum frame and Android version+update support up to 6 OS+6 Security - years.

I've tested 10+ budget and midrange phones around the $300-$500 price mark from Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi, Infinix, and Samsung, and they all use virtual proximity.
