Even now we can only get 4G in major cities, most of the rural area still operate on 2G or 3G.

NK, 12 Dec 2020I read opinions of other users for Samsung M51 / A51, Onepl... moreIf those are your options, just go with OnePlus. Buy good wireless earphones, and you're all set for a few years.

A71 is a good phone too. Avoid all Samsung phones below A70. Especially stay away from A51. That's worth 100EUR max.

From what you've described, you should be fine with any 5 years old phone as long as it has 5G and earphone jack. No regards to performance, camera, features, display, audio, built quality, etc.
Unfortunately, most users expect more from their phones than that.

5G will be slowly adapted into phones, because it's a unnecessary cost expense for now. It makes no sense as a brand to unnecessarily charge more, when 90%+ of their customers don't have access to it, and they expect their customers to change phones by the time of widespread implementation of 5G.
In midrange phones, you'll start seeing it a lot more by mid 2021 to early 2022.

Viper, 13 Dec 2020sorry to disappoint you, but you sound like spoiled rich pe... moreI disagree. The decision comes down to things the other guy mentioned.

For you, the decision comes down to just "feeling content" knowing that your phone has the latest software update.
            With minor changes, rarely improvements.

For him, and me, it comes down to what usage needs our phone fulfill in reality, and how good is it at fulfilling them.
Camera, Display/Visual experience, Sound, Features, Built quality, Performance, etc.

A phone that's superior in these things but is on Android 8, is still much better in reality than a phone that's inferior in these things, but is on Android 11.

As long as apps still support that older Android version. Even Nougat isn't outdated. And Android gives you the benefit of Custom ROMs, even if your phone is outdated.

Khakwani, 13 Dec 2020BEWARE POTENTIAL BUYERS. MAKE A WISE DECISION! Been using ... moresorry to disappoint you, but you sound like spoiled rich person who got broken and went from Ferrari model worth 1 million euros down to some other Ferrari cheaper model like 350k euros... i can agree maybe about the cpu power on Note 8.. and the display.. the rest there's no compares at all, and you say this ''Comes with a good software support system from Samsung (Hopefully at least a year more) and so on.'' a year more ? probably you don't follow the mobile section for longer than few years.. Samsung promised up to 3 updates (previously 2) for mostly newer Samsung phones including A71, A51 and A90 5G if i remember right, also the rest flagships starting from S10 or 2019 flagships, so i would definitely choose A71 over older flagships even like Note 9, why ? is simple supports and updates new android, One UI etc. with other words A71 would last for more than one year with supports in terms of androids and security updates for additional 3 years, every year there's new android, then again not everyone looks for flagships, yes i miss IP ratings, even more that my old A3 2017 model has IP rating.. but nevertheless i can live with it. And i bet there's other peoples who thinks the same, paying over 1000 euros for flagship who's going to be obsolete after nearly a year is for me nonsense.. that's why i choose mostly solid mid-range phone, this A71 for me is perfect after i found out Samsung is going to support it, not by two but even three generations of android, that's more than enough for me, but then that's just me

BEWARE POTENTIAL BUYERS. MAKE A WISE DECISION!
Been using this one for the past 3 4 months, moved in from Galaxy Note 8 since it was used for around 3 years and the battery had depreciated majorly, also I was not in a state to spend flagship amount of money so first time ever, I did not go for a flagship phone and decided to settle in for a mid ranger.
Here are my 2 cents on this decision
Mid rangers now are way better than what they used to be back in the days. You get a good package for the price you are paying. The same is the case with a71, The screen has good colors, not so bright in direct sunlight but easily a good and livable screen. the speakers are good. BATTERY IS AMAZING, blew me away! easily lasts for around 9 hours if you can live with the battery falling below 15%. I always charge my phone when the battery is below 20, and take it up to 100%. Full charge no matter what. Takes around 75 to 90 minutes to charge, 90 being when the battery is completely dead. Comes with a good software support system from Samsung (Hopefully at least a year more) and so on.
Now there are some cons as well. Using a mid ranger, I had a theory that I have confirmed and it is a lesson learnt for the rest of my life.
IF YOU FIND AN OLD FLAGSHIP PHONE IN THE PRICE OF A NEW MID RANGER, GO FOR THE FLAGSHIP, NO BRAINER AT ALL.
Sort out your priorities people. This is the worst, the most potato camera I have used lately, and I am just comparing it to Note 8 for now, which is around 3 generation old now. No IP rating, no wireless charging, the built quality is miles apart, the screen good, yet not comparable to the note,
Note as per my knowledge will not receive any future updates, but still it is way more feature packed than this. For me, I could have replaced the battery and used the note for a few extra years, but unfortunately it still would not have been enough. Kind of regret my decision when open the camera? will change as soon as I get the funds.

I read opinions of other users for Samsung M51 / A51, Oneplus Nord, Oneplus 8T, RealMe 7Pro or RealMe Narzo.... ..ooh after over a 2 months research, I could not frame my mind to select one phone of these. Observations: Phones from above costing below INR25,000 does not have 5G. Oneplus models does not have Headphone Jack. Samsung models that I used in the past had always been with bloating and slowness issue and the same continues with M51 too. Oneplus Nord has same issues + network issue too. I dont understand why the hell they charge the cost of a laptop for a phone but could not provide a good phone which could provide good speaker, long lasting battery without bloating and network issue? Why are all these manufacturers dumping the phones with ever increasing Camera pixels and target for gaming features which are non essential for a good phone... Do they think that every mobile user is going shoot a blockbuster movie and broadcast it to the public? Are all mobile users really wanting to buy phones for playing only? Shit !!

Just told me to wait for an update and still if I feel that the issue is the same, then I should take it to Samsung Authorized service centre and they will help. So I thought of just waiting because the place where bought are Genuine sellers. This comes only when the Apps are closed and it's hardly for 1 or 2 seconds when it's been seen. What do you suggest as the security update is of October 1, 2020. And I haven't receive any update for November and December 2020. Also its on Andriod 10, 1UI Version 2.5

is dying. It's not a software defect. It is impending hardware failure. Send it to service center for screen replacement while it's under warranty so you don't have to pay anything.

I can tell you about my experience. I am getting 32hrs battery backup and I am a moderate user. Not playing game and not content addictted. I use youtube one hour a day but as a musicophile, use spotify daily 4 to 6 hrs. A71 is my daily driver. Call to email and social chatting all I do on this. A71 giving me brilliant battery backup.

Redissia, 10 Dec 2020poco or this? I like high refresh rate better than amoled.Which 'Poco' are you talking about? If it's the Poco X3 you're talking about then it really depends what you prioritize first. If you need dedicated micro SD card, micro SD card encryption, Manual LTE band selection, hidden hotspot /hidden SSID option, brighter, more colorful Amoled display, better, faster, longer software updates and security, Widevine L1 support for Netflix offline downloads screen sharing, NFC, better Dolby Atmos sound, 4K selfie videos, a 5G option and better memory handling with apps and widgets (doesn't kill always on widgets), then only the Samsung A71 4G/A71 5G will do.

However, if you want a slight improved version of the snapdragon 730G processor, a much larger battery, a high refresh rate screen, greater customization of screen display color settings, want an IR blaster, better video controls, and at a cheaper price than the A71, then the Poco X3 will be better for you.
