    very handsome phone. feels great in the hand and it should appeal to those who don't like large screens. i personally am not much of a fan of its back plate though. and i've read mixed reviews on its battery life so i can't be sure what to make of it. but i wish it were cheaper though. kinda think it's too expensive for its worth.

        I can say that because i have experienced myself the same thing with 2 older phones from Sony Ericsson and Samsung : perfectly working here in Europe, then once offered to friends in caribeans, they got multiple problems after a while, then impossible to turn on. Same as you, i got one of my phones back to a repair center and they told me it was impossible to fix due to condensation and they didn't have my motherboard anymore.

I took it to Samsung and they changed the main board and USB connector for 120 euros...after only 13 months of use. First time I had a problem with a Samsung phone.
          Was really happy that all my pictures were on the memory card so i did not lose anything.
          Have to say Samsung was very efficient and only took 2 days to fix the phone here in Thailand.

                I own the gold one ! The best looking phone I have ever used ! The battery is really good for my daily use ! I used to own LG G2 , Xperia z1 but alpha has better battery life among them !dont hesitate becuz the small battery !believe me i can get over 4.30 h screen every day .even batter than my sister's note3.screen is more accurate more vivid compare to note 3 n s5 .the premium feel that other samsung don't come close !I spent 500 usd for this phone , and I'm really happy with it.

                    I dont know why people love big screen phones like 5.5'' BIGG..phone that big dosent even fit in my pocket.. LOL 4.7'' is just the perfect size.

                        Just got my Alpha, i'm also owner of a S5. All i can say about the so called build quality : well it's "okay" to me. Unlike many, i don't see myself discussing about it all day long. I had already owned several full metal phones, and despite all the comments, they don't worth more than plastic ones in daily life and Samsung seems to be have the best plastic among many brands i have tested/owned.

                        Only thing is that the rear back cover isn't as hard as the S5's one. But it indeed looks nicer (silver version) than a S5 but that's it. The tighter screen also feels strange to me but i will see with time.

                          Karan - i just bought alpha, really pleased with it. In the Memo apps, do you know how to make the fonts bold or dark as its too fine for my eyes.
