I see a lot of complaining here,i hated my phone when i bought the first time too but there are a lot of ways that you can do to make your phone faster like disabling apps like play store and Google play services account manager and everything that has to do with Google that you don't need.and you can enable them when you need them again,i've disabled a lot a pre-installed app and my phone is working fine.you can also disable the animations which will make your phone a lot faster.you can look for it on how to disable the animation on Android phone.you can use other internet browser like Opera Mini browser it's better much faster and consumes less data,i disabled chrome browser in my phone.for the problem of OS system eating a lot of background data you can use a firewall for nonrooted phone.it still going to consume background data but not like the first time,when i first bought it it used to consume more 500mb every month after i installed the app it became about 140 mb it still a lot but not like the first time.there's a lot of things you can do to make your phone faster.

AnonD-451787, 03 Aug 2016Both iPhone 5S and J1 are 4" display screen.No one talked about the screen size. For me my J1 did not work even basic funcitons I had problems for the one I had (text not sent not received, wifi keep dropping, apps keep restarting for no reason, poeple calling no call received), but my iphone 5s always worked.... luckily I still have the iphone and the J1 is recycled.

This will free up more RAM to use.
Not enough RAM the phone will tend to freeze.

Just realized that any downloading either apps/pics are not saved onto the SD Card! It's like the Alcatel phones. Just sucks that my first Samsung phone and this had to happen. Need improvement.

I cannot express enough the frustration I have with this phone. This was my first introduction to Samsung. I will NEVER get a Samsung phone again. It has to be the slowest phone on the market. Continuous freezing is a huge problem. There is no such a thing as sending a message quickly or making a quick phone call. I will never advice anyone to purchase the J1.
