does anyone know how to do a screen shot of a certain part of video to save it as a picture... i have already learnt everything else since i spend a lot of my time on the phone and so that is the only thing i would like to know

What was Samsung thinking to call this phone a "gallaxy". What a load of crap. Stay away from this phone as there are too many software issues with Android platform.

If you do explore &... moreI dont even ask about "lite" as I know what that means, the basis must work on any phone and one this model Samsung J1/100H/DS it does not, I have been using phones for a while now so I know what to look at, why does the application manager show all applications restarting when the alarm goes off, latest software from Samsung, nothing else installed except Candy Crush, alarm rings, all applications supplied by Samsung restarting.... Trying to connect to Wifi when mobile data is switch off and wifi is also off.... Previous phones from Samsung Galaxy S, S2, S3neo and J5 all no problems, this model is just really poor.

If you do explore & understand about this phone.
Go to Setting -> Storage. The description say;
There is an indication on the minimum amount of storage space required to run the system.
If the game is using a lot of memory, then there is a potential of system "hang" should some app kick in.
Using the term "Lite", it is not suitable to any apps that required a lot of memory in order to run.
This is what i mean that this phone is for "Lite" for user & apps.
If you want to play app which required a lot of memory to run, then this phone is not suitable to you. The phone will definitely crash, once the memory go bust.

It is only three months since we bought the NEW Samsung J1 from trusteed dealed, Telecom. While we watch video from our Samsung J1, it was turned off. And it was unable to turn on. Whenever we tried to turn on, we heard the tone of incoming texts. But the screen is dark (without light) and unable to open.
We took to technicians and one said the problem is due to coil. coil might be cut inside the resistor. What could be the problem?
Any help please???

Don't buy this phone, save your nerves. I'm using it for six months, and I can say that this is very poor phone. I'm using only viber, messenger, and fb, and even that is to difficult for this phone for run properly. Messages always late, when I open some application, it kicks me out very often. When I see some article on FB, if I want to open it I know that means kick out from FB. Awfully slow phone, my first and last Samsung, and it was very dissappointing. I know that 512 RAM is to weak, but Sony with 512 RAM was like space shuttle for this. Btw. sometimes i don't even get sms, people asking me why don't you answer, I ask answer on what?! And phone sometimes switch off by itself, even if battery is 50-50%. People don't buy this, you'll regret it!

If the alarm goes off and you are playing a game the game app restarts or crashes, this is not really multi tasking and this phone should be able to manage something so simple.

I have a Samsung galaxy J1...it's rubbish it freezes at first it was good and now the damn phone is freezing. I have a 16micro sb card and that's to store my music and games but the phone it's self won't allow me to download any app...I've been ripped off.

I have had the Samsung J1 for 4 months now and I find that it freezes up 95% of the time. I have also noticed when my I charge my phone it still comes up with a screeb alert to tell me to charge it. Other than those problems it is a fantastic phone and does a good job. I deffinently recommend it to anyone on a low budget that wants a decent phone that works very well!!
