I am absolutely disappointed in the Samsung Galaxy J1 phone. The reception is terrible. There is something seriously wrong with these phones. Both my husband and I upgraded and we are both terribly disappointed. PLEASE do not buy these phones!

ichHey, guys! I also was very disappointed in this phone because it was too slow, I couldn't listen to music while doing another thing on the phone ant etc. But no, it's a quiet good phone. You just need to switch off some functions in the menu that you don't need actually, and there is also a speed button settings > language & input > pointer speed, where you can set a maximal speed and also this link will be helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmlCoFSroB8 And also for playing a music, go to Menu > play music > don't accept a google suggestion to pay for a music, you just skip it and there is a normal album that you can use it as in many other smartphones.

could be better....it is like the phone has a brain of its own..it does what it likes..u open an app and it throws u out regardless of the app u open...cant even enjoy listening to music on this phone cos it most of the times skip to next music on its own...the software has sooo many bugs...ive updated the software and it still didnt fix most of the bugs...i hope samsung fix this ......

for me no problem just hard to root :) so waiting for normal app
also display take too much energy from battery :( so better use extreme power save
maybe has got lollipop?

This is the worst phone I've ever owned. If you want to use two basic apps at once (for example, facebook messenger while texting) its all too much for this phone and it crashes.
Also the keyboard is tiny.
I've had it for less then two weeks and I'm returning it and getting my money back today.
Save yourself the hassel and DON'T BUY THIS PHONE.

I have bought this phone 2 weeks ago, I knew it is not going to be anything good, I already had a very good tablet, so, I just bought it for calling. However, it doesn't even do this for me. some days ago, I was charging it to full (100%) and after 20 minutes, I was finding the phone turned off because the charge all went down to zero..
I formatted the phone and this problem is solved, but there is a new problem now. The phone gets off with no reason and it doesnt get on again.. and the problem is not with the battery because the battery level doesnt get low.... it just turns off and doesnt turn on again unless 4 hours would pass.... then on again and off again.. when it turns off , the power button does not work :/
absolutely bad, absolutely disappointing... please do not waste your 100$..

i have this fone..its not worth to buy for..it will automatically turn-off even i didnt turn it off.. so slow when browsing..

I have the phone - i really don't like it. I was told it is the smaller version of the J5 - but it's not. The phone is talent-less It is slow and not very responsive - for some reason it is not 4G and I would think all phone produced after 2012 would aim for this feature for it's sale-ability. I wait 4 seconds for face book to load. It is worse than the samsung ace. I had a Nokia 635 and it was fab - its the apps that let me down there.
