LG is good. LG using snapdragon 835 chipset.
Samsung using Samsung exynos chipset. this processor is not good performance.

This is definitely a new expressio... moreVery true about Google and Samsung BUT competition and management changes/decisions can be very different sometimes.
And about the Apple iPhone X, I believe all OEMs are desperate now that's why most are making these handsets at almost a loss - I'm still a string believer of the fact that the profit margin in the Note 8 might not be up to that on the S8.
And one would need to see the iPhones in person or reviews when released to know the actual dimensions, specs and feel.
But I'm happy with the way the mobile trend is going; more sophistication and more advanced features - of course at a higher price.
And why would Xiaomi choose to launch Mi Mix 2 on 9/11?? WTH! Am I mistaking here??

Moreover it is the thickest of 2017 but same boring spec sheet with cumbersome design..........
Among blazingly fast phones: note8 and spen is lazy slow and old school

Fast, superb camera, nice design (case it though!), fast charging, wireless charging, good reception etc. I make do with the 32GB version using the cloud to archive all my stuff. (Have 1TB Google account.)
S-Pen is nice too, has the clicky thing on end that is great to fidget with.

Was waiting for this cam. Holding lumia 950 for 9 months. And then bought Sony XA1 due to limitation of windows 10 OS and needed relatively compact mobile. Waiting for this, as had used note 4 for 1 year before shattered due to high impact fall. Camera is most important for me. Pen is added advantage. Don't play much games. Don't see many videos on phone. Sony XA1 already has visited repairing for screen. Screen replacement is done and is now perfect. It is more than expected phone for me for my needs. So, now i am planning to buy Canon G9x mark II, will get connected with mobile with app. Camera is hardly of 200 gms. Have large 1 inch sensor and 3 x zoom. Rather than spending more than 70 K indian rupees, will get things done in 30 K with possible best of both worlds. So now onwards, rather than keeping two phones, i will keep one camera and one phone..

This is definitely a new expression to me. XD
I think that Google has no choice but to be fair for now. Samsung sells a lot of phones globally that feature it's OS. I mean it obviously didn't help Motorola much when Google owned it. I think the Pixels get special perks like unlimited Google photo storage and such but nothing that would put other OEMs, even the Chinese ones that don't feature its services pre-installed , at a major loss.
As far as how it's going to stack up against the iPhone X; it's never a straight forward comparison. I like Android for my own reasons but I know others feel differently. However the design of the new phone looks ridiculous, right down to the UI and the "ears". It looks like a child's fake toy phone. On top of the fact that they're releasing 3 different models at the same time in between generations seems like desperation and defeating the purpose of Apple's motto of simplicity.
I don't think it'll take long for the N8 to come down in price. Once Samsung feels confident that the Note brand has been re-established they'll probably try to push the Note 9 out faster. There are reports that suggest Samsung is trying to push the S9 for announcement in January, way before the usual February/April time.

I will buy this phone next year so that i can afford it...but since i don't like the placement of the finger print sensor, then i will wait for note 9 or 10 that might have new placement of finger print...LOL!

Samsung Note 8 is £869 in England. Not many can afford that high price. No wonder Samsung makes 20% of South Korea income.
My advice to fellow Brits, ignore this expensive phone and buy cheaper products eg One plus 5, Huawei, HTC. The only difference is water-proof. I don't think anyone takes his/her phone to the pool.
