georgec32, 13 Jan 2017no removable battery = no interest. I love the Note series... moreI love being able to have a 10,000mAh battery DIRECTLY powering my Note 3 - unlike external packs that takes hours to charge up the sealed battery. Or just swap out the spent with a charged battery within a minute. After a year, the battery fatigue is starting to show - no problem, I buy a new battery.
Some people at Samsung decided to follow whatever Apple did, starting with the S6. They did it with the Note.5 with limited 32 GB internal with no memory expansion - sales weren't that great because core Android users use memory expansion.
Look at what happened with the tightly sealed battery of the Note7 - explosive results.

no removable battery = no interest. I love the Note series and use the s-pen often for taking notes during meetings etc. No other phone/phablet quite like it. BUT .. another reason I prefer it over other brands is the memory expansion & the removable battery .. like someone else said, a non-removable battery means replacing the phone every year OR having an official service center install a new battery. No thanks. I skipped the Note 5 because of that very bad decision, and I will permanently switch phone brands if Samsung messes this one up.

Radoka81, 13 Jan 2017Samsung I have one question
Why all ( Note phones & S... moreIt's all about making more money. They tried Milk for music service. I'm guessing they made some studies that most people buying flagships aren't listening to FM radio.
If you're spending so much for a phone, you can afford data. You can always get a Bluetooth earphone with FM radio like a Sony SBH-52. Or else get a lower end device with FM radio, or get Sony.
Samsung is really trying hard to be like Apple by mirroring stuff iPhones don't have - FM tuner, sealed battery, they tried taking out the microSD slot. Next is the earphone jack.

I had note 2 and 4 didn't like note 5 because Samsung is trying to make more money like iPhone by making un removable batterys.
I look forward too get my new note8, just please remember to include a slot for memory card and a removable battery. We want only the best on note and people who buy it usually have the money for the best.
Ps sorry Samsung but you need to learn from note7 experience. Don't disappoint us again !!

Yes, a 128 GB or 256 GB internal would be a big deal. Plus the new UFS card slot would be great.

one more thing, it will be good to have internal space of at least 64GB or 128GB and higher space.
I have note 5 with 32GB is not enough at all for daily use and my office works, I need to purchase additional OTG..
***another option: portable SSD with 1TB or higher instead of OTG at affordable price***

Imperator Neubaticus, 10 Jan 2017Lol it's not about screen on time or how long your phone wi... moreAnd you're talking about your 6-year-old E7 with low RAM, low processor speed with only GSM/HSPA. I'm betting that's not even your main daily device. Of course it's likely not to overheat.
What Samsung did was to put in as much battery battery in a space with little to wiggle - all on the name of giving a perception of being thin. Higher processor, LTE, more connection points, more apps, social media alerts, and Android OS demands more power. And how thick IS your E7? More than 13mm with a 1200mAh battery.
Present day - all that power usage, tight space, fast charging really puts a strain to the battery. Batteries will need expanding space. Read about it. Explosive revelations.
I've already seen iPhones and iPods just have their batteries bloat outwards. I had a few regular batteries bloat after a year of heavy use, and all I do is get a replacement. Same tech and chemical composition with sealed batteries - now that inside a sealed updated Android phone. Not the now dead Symbian OS.
It's even hard to believe you have a fully 6-year-old Nokia E7, with NO issues of power retention without the battery being replaced all these years.
Get real. Even my old Sony phones had to have their batteries replaced every 2 years because present battery tech can have your rechargeable battery last 6 years.
I really do hope Note8 gets a replaceable battery system.

I have had my Note 4 now for about 3 years. When I purchase a Note 8 (if they have a removable battery) I will put a new battery in my Note 4 and maybe even include a spare one prior to selling it. That should take me about 2 minutes and no special tools or potential damage to my phone. After I reset it, the buyer will have a phone that will be as good as new that will maintain a full charge and I will get top dollar for it. Who would buy a 3 year old phone with the original battery in it with no way of changing it out or confirming its condition.....not me. Like I said before Samsung makes GREAT phones....They just don't answer them when their customers call. The same goes for the Note 8.....Which one of the following 2 phones would you buy.....2 Year old Note 8 with original battery - Change out at your own risk and cost or.....2 Year old Note 8 with new battery and a spare one included. There is no risk of losing customers to Samsung if the battery is removable....However if it is not ??????.....Why take the risk. I do not hear anyone saying they will not buy a Note 8 if the battery is removable.

DNeighbor, 07 Jan 2017I'm sure you use an average of more than 2 GB of data with ... moreLol it's not about screen on time or how long your phone will last on a single charge. It's about longevity of the battery itself as well as its safety in every day use. And in all those years not once has the non-removable battery of my nokia e7 ever showed the slightest sign of being needed to be replaced or of being close to spontaneously catching fire. The point sailed way over your head. Your comprehension skills need polishing, my friend.
And again, we cannot conclude that the exploding note 7 battery was due to the fact that the battery was non-removable. The fact, however, is that non-removable batteries by nature are not any less safe than removable ones. It doesn't matter if samsung recalled the note 7 twice or a hundred times. Making the conclusion that employing non-removable batteries equals voila exploding note 7 and then trusting samsung less because of a flawed association IS misguided. Again, it is most prudent to wait for the official investigation result.

Imperator Neubaticus, 07 Jan 2017I have a nokia e7 for 6 years now. Its battery is non-user ... moreI'm sure you use an average of more than 2 GB of data with 8 hours of SOT like I do with my Note 3 on a daily basis. I'm sure you do that with your 6 year-old Nokia.
Misguided? Why would they recall the Note7 TWICE, and end all production and selling? Explain that.
Samsung's attempt to do iPhone-like limitations and fragility like with the Note.5 has started me doubting about the "flagship" hardware they sell. I really tried with the Note7, and the lack of versatility with extended batteries I was used to with the Note 3 was something I had to endure for a better camera.
I think of smartphones as portable computers, and is the only gadget I carry without the need to charge during the day despite very heavy use.
