Anonymous, 26 Oct 2020I am willing to buy a note 9. but after i read these commen... moreMate i got note9 two years ago still using it, although i just ordered my iPhone 12P but the samsung sure can still work for at least 2 more years, you know it was samsung's flagship model. it is still so fast and good overall, 461ppi beats the latest iphone already, for $300 it is the best choice...plus galaxy pay samsung stuff is always good they have that software environment

Go for it, its a great phone.

I am willing to buy a note 9. but after i read these comments i had a second thought due to that update issue. Is it still out there in note 9? have they solved the issue? is it still worth buying it now for $300 ? (26th oct 2020) Pls assist me guys..

Updated my mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to all available updates till date. However suddenly in the morning the screen turned green and not usable. Searched the net and presently able to use the mobile with great difficulty with screen set to Brightness fully dim and adaptive display Off.
Any input to restore the phone would be great

Never had any problem with screen tint issues but have had issues with blackcrush where the blacks and darker areas in videos lack contrast. Noticed it happened when I installed multiple video apps or video streaming apps. So its probably badly written apps conflicting or poor
firmware code by Samsung.
RE the green tint issues, I've wondered if some sort of malware is at the basis of this. Something that's secretly installed on infected
Note 9s that's activated during the system update process?? and alters system level code which isn't updateable or which corrupts and
damages the hardware by writing non-valid code, trying to exploit the phone? Or as above, it could just be a conflict with an app that carries over.
I've always factory reset and clean-flashed my Note 9 (Any hidden malware present is wiped), never go much beyond 50% brightness, don't fastcharge (reduces the longterm life of the battery really and probably the OLED screen as well (that extra heat is going somewhere, right through your screen and its *organic* pixels, a downside to being dust & water proof! Get a 20000+ mah powerbank already!) and only install a limited number of Playstore-sourced apps at a time. Also, everyone should prob get a commercial VPN and block everything that you're not actively using as well as using comprehensive anti-malware addons for your web browser, like uBlock Origin, HTTPS Everywhere, etc.
Its still a great phone, but I can prob see myself getting a refurb'd Note 20 Ultra in a few years when the prices tank and keeping it as a backup.

10, 10+, 20 onwards will show marked decrease
in features and value as Samsung pushes more towards maximizing profits and maybe focusing more on their Fold line of phones.
Note 9 has:
- No notch or hole punch in the display.
- Optional model with 8gb ram/512gb storage
- Headphone jack
- Heart Sensor
- Wireless charging
- 4000 mah battery
- Ip68 water & dust resistance
- Stereo Dolby Atmos speakers
- FM radio chip (SD variants)
- Iris scanner
- Alot of *good* features that other flagship
phones are only 'okay' at and many they don't
have at all (Dex, Edge display, Knox features,etc)
- UI 2.1 and a good deal more security updates
Some designer went all out with the Note 9 and it seems not many noticed. It wouldn't surprise me if they got fired for doing too good a job!
