Never buying Samsung again - they went full Apple, purchased the note 9, a bit after the warranty expired there was a firmware update, phone developed a heating problem for a few days and shortly after it got the green screen issue (likely the heat causes the screen flex bonding to loosen), phone is mostly unusable (can be used as a phone but the screen has a green "fog" and often the display freezes and requires full or minimum brightness to unfreeze, can't watch videos, can't take pictures accurately... awesome..) seems as if Samsung did something to hush criticism and manipulated google results generally regarding their device's faults (results mostly show ads or generic FAQs to troubleshoot generic problems.. not an organic search output you'd expect)
I have an expensive flagship that will cost half its price as new to fix - for a global manufacturing defect! No more Samsung. Xiaomi can have me in their botnet ffs at least i can have spares and not get screwed so horribly.

i own this note9 phone the N version for several years now, works fine except is not water resistant anymore, but i have consider about to purchase one more note9 F version, bcz there is no better phone jet, i don't care about software updates sens i root it and use costume rooms and that makes super secured anti adds phone.

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2023Looking to buy it in August 2023, I guess this is the deal ... moreWhat’s your consideration in choosing this? As one of its user, I suggest you to look for newer types. Its software support has been stopped in 2021 and the greenish screen issue is haunting. As it is a flagship phone, its power consumption is so so high and the phone gets hot often.

I'v... moreIt is a great phone however mine when hot playing games or using video for long time the screen dims dramatically and has greenish hue. One thing Samsung did and did not update was Pro Mode for video which I need sometimes as its auto focus hunts in lower light. So looking for a new but will miss the features missing on current flagships.

I purchased the Note 9 the moment it was released. I've used it daily since then. I've installed and uninstalled dozens of apps and taken literally hundreds of thousands of photos and probably around 50 - 100 hours of video. It is my GPS and speedometer when I drive. I used it daily whilst working as a brunch line cook, baker, and doughnut maker and have brushed out quite a bit of oil and flour from the charging port. I've dropped it on concrete and gravel; used it whilst camping at the beach and in the mountains where I even took photos underwater in the river, and I have also used this phone to record audio while I sleep. And after all these years and abuse there's not a scratch on it and it still holds a charge for at least 24 hours even when I use it constantly for music over aux or bluetooth). The speaker is a bit weak and will only last about 7 hours playing on full blast but I have better speakers so that is not a concern. The only thing I did was buy a clear back sleeve for like $5 when I first bought it back in Aug of 2018. I've thought about getting a new phone but none of them seem to have all the features that this one does and they all cost way too much now. And since there is nothing technically wrong with this phone other than it not being supported with updates I figure I might as well just wait until someone puts out a phone that is more to my specific requirements and desires.

Eddy, 08 May 2023I also have a Note 9 8/512mb. Still runs like a dream, eve... moreHi Eddy,
I had the same issue with the charging port becoming picky with certain cables. At first, I thought it would only accept the original cable, but then I decided to try something else. I used a needle to carefully remove the accumulated lint from the charging port and then cleaned it with a vacuum. Surprisingly, it started working like a charm, and now it accepts all charging cables without any problem.
Really hope it will help,
Vladimir

Changed the display couple days ago as the original one had caused burn marks on screen and the screen would completely go green sometimes. The OEM screen looks amazing just like the day I bought this phone. Made transparent back glass (DIY) and it looks amazing. Well no IP rating anymore since I have been using this since 2018 so still no regrets. Works flawless even on 60 hrz panel. Everything works great but had to apply thermal paste on the CPU since it got torn out during phone installation. If anyone wants to make transparent back glass then ask me. It takes a lot of time to do with proper chemicals.
Cheers 🤘🤘
