iwan, 20 Aug 2013BE CAREFUL ! This is a phone that can die for no reason any... morei have read the sudden death syndrome in google
it affects the note 2 having JB 4.1.1
in most cases it wad noted that you check the chipset
used on your note if it is insane or not by using an app

i too have some lags once in awhile
and have these restart i think twice since i bought
the phone in december...wow that was a long time
so better yet if you still have the warranty
and you have those lags...freezing...restarting effects
go to a samsung service center
that way if the phone needs some parts replacements
its gonna be replaced for free

eloy.palaboy, 21 Aug 2013and ohh... where did you buy the replica casing? i want to... moreI got those cases from the thriving cellphone kiosk market everywhere in Metro Manila.

Don Hils, 21 Aug 2013Well, I wasn't on this page several months ago to know what... moreso true...
not because you have the CGG on the phone
that you can do the 10 storey drop test
or use your to deflect bullets
      it is just scratch resistant
so it can only withstand a certain amount of pressure
or else you will break the phone

the casing used by our friend TheNeighbor
is one example how one person
takes good care of a nice high end phone like the note 2
so i guess CGG is not really an issue
if you take good care of you phone

I pamper it like an egg so I don't really care whether or not it's gorilla or monkey screen. you are not going to start practicing drop test and hammer drop test with your phone because it's gorilla glass cos one thing is going to happen if you do that, your screen will break.

I too don't put any sort of transparent screen protector. It only scratches the protective film from the S Pen's physical contact. It's a waste of money.

The glass surface is scratch free because I'm cartel. I keep my Note II with a $10 exterior protector case:

This is my $10 super heavy casing:
              http://www.flickr.com/photos/92800985@N06/8604943092/
Better those than replacing a broken front panel glass at half the cost of the device.

These chemical strengthened tempered glass on our devices aren't meant to be abused or expected to be indestructible. They do provide some level of strength from small bumps and scratches, but not from direct heavy drops. You need a double layered case protector for that.

For what it's worth. I have never had a screen protector on mine since day dot and don't have the slightest scratch... To me that indicates it is gorilla glass.

AnonD-2665, 20 Aug 2013thx for the reply ! Now I have to think seriously before bu... moreNote II has outstanding performance in battery stamina, split screen multi-tasking, and superior quality. The others who are trying so hard to make a "phablet" can't even get the concept of why Samsung designed it the way it is.

The original Galaxy Note had almost the same size/proportions as a passport or a Moleskine A6 notebook. It was the first ever to introduce a leather flip cover with a speaker slit that can be integrated as part of its back cover. It was impressively thin 2 years ago. The Wacom digitizer or S Pen is an active (not capacitive) stylus that detects pressure levels, making dynamic thin-thick lines - great for digital sketching.

Samsung has greatly improved on the software and hardware on the Note II. Others may claim that their hardware are better now, but they still didn't get the original concept and the handy Wacom digitizer. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra has only water resistance over the Note II. Its "any stylus" concept only creates a non-dynamic line input. They even got the size wrong with wide bezels to compensate for it being 6mm+ thin as you can't even pocket it like a passport.
