HI all,
Question: I am using Samsung Galaxy Note and since the latest update I noticed that in "navigation" the phone does not rotate the view. It rotates on all other apps and menus without a problem. I also have activated "rotation" on the device. I would appreciate any suggestions to resolve the issue.
Observation: I purchased my first Note in December 2011. In March of 2012 the battery was dying within a few hours. It got to a point where I could not turn on the device. I though the battery was at fault. I couldn't find a battery in my town so I ended up buying another Note in April. I installed the new updates on the new device and it was working ok till about two weeks ago. I keep getting green lines across the screen and the screen is jumping all over the place. It settles once I hit the power button and unlock the phone. Later I decided to place the battery from the new Note into the old note. It powered on without a problem. The phone got the latest updates and the battery (once thought to have been damaged) is working without a problem. So much so, that yesterday I charged both Notes to 100% and I left them sitting all day. At the end of the day the older Note (both same model, just purchased them at different times) had 80% and the newer Note had 48%. I am wondering how is that possible and is the battery not working properly in the new one? Both devices have the same apps and both devices had wifi connected throughout the day. Is it possible that the new update had effect on the battery?
Issue with navigation rotation is only occurs in the older Note.
I hope I didn't get two faulty devices:/

People please stop complaining about battery life. I get an average of 3 days of normal use with official 4.0.3 ICS, but majority of the time with wifi off. Here are some things you can do:
1. Refer to my earlier post.
2. Learn about fuel_alerted- the main problem (google is ur frnd)!
3. Go to settings and then apps, close down running apps u don't need.
4. Keep wifi, bluetooth & gps switched off unless needed.
5. Turn off auto-sync.
6. Charge ur battery only when it falls to 10%, and that to by switching off the phone, for efficiency.
7. Instead of auto network mode- select 2g or 3g, whichever is in ur region.

TrevorAdrian, 24 Jul 2012im getting a very bad battery life on my galaxy note 4.0.4 ... moreIf you didn't a factory reset at first, do a factory reset one time but be sure that it will delete all your data and files and apps. It reinstall the os. Go to setting /back up & reset /factory data reset. But if you don't want to delete all your files and accounts, search for another way. It help most the times when you come from a GB rom to Ics.
