By Far the best phone I have laid hands on. Superb Screen, fast response time, Voice Recognition vs. the SIRI is better and the S-Pen proves very useful when you need it.

I am unboxint it at: http://gplz.com/2011/12/unboxing-samsung-galaxy-note and have linked the specs sheet here at GSM Arena, they cover a pretty good review here thats why I bought the phone on the first place. But to convince you further, I will post a personal review soon on the perspective of why it is a "bang-for-the-buck" phone... Thanks GSMArena!

Guys After reading a lot about the 2.3.6 update .
I finally decided to update it...
It has been 10 hrs since the update .
              Battery level 52% remaining.
              Usage details
              Display On 2hr 23m
              voice calls-35 min
              messaging -20 msgs
              watsapp-10-15 min
              videos- HD 30 min
              Youtube 5-10 min
              games- 35-40 min
              internet -15-20 min...

One change i noticed which was NOT POSTED before is the brightness SETTING in Internet .It has now "POWER SAVING levels " 1-2-&3.
Which according to me will improve the surfing time on note A hell lot as they are decreasing colour LEVELS...
              hOPE IT helps.....
Will try with juice defender tomorrow and then notice the change.....
              Till Then ...
              Sammy ROCKS !!!!

I purchased Note on 25th and now experimenting. Seriously, this is excellent device. But, as discussed in forums at length buy many, battery draining is issue. As suggested by Neighbor, I'm in the process of downloading Juice Defender and will see the difference.

In the settings, there are settings for Power saving in which two options are given- System power saving mode, and custom power saving mode. Can experts comment- how good are above settings, any benefits in term of improving battery life?

I can not hide my feeling to share that SAMSUNG atleast could have supplied USB OTG and HDMI cable as standard free accesories alongwith the package. See way back NOKIA introduced N8 and later on E7, in which these are standard supplied accesories. Moreover, charger supplied (in India) is suitable for voltage rating 150V- 240V. Does it mean to buy a new charger if you are visiting USA? See NOKIA /iPhone chargers are always having rating 100V-250V. Why SAMSUNG did not ensure for such simple thing? Bad..

                  Regards,

                    Hi,

Anyone experience any problem to configure exchange mail on Samsung Note? I am currently using samsung note and HTC Desire HD. No problem to setup my work email using exchange or IMAP on HTC, but unable to do so using Samsung Note.

Have tried at least 50 times with different settings, still doesn't work.

Anyone has any suggestion if I need to change any other settings (Such as security settings etc) in order to receive my work emails on samsung note?

AnonD-669, 28 Dec 2011Juice Defender can't do nothing if you're always tinkering ... moreI already mentioned that fact more than once. That's why I also keep an extra battery handy as well as letting Juice Defender do its work. Unlike Iphone users, we have the option of changing to fresh batteries without waiting to charge up the phone. I keep my Note practically wireless, since I charge my drained battery with the Note's separate charger either by plugging it to the electrical convenience outlet or with a portable power bank. External battery jackets would make the Note bulkier and the internal battery's life cycles shorter with that constant charging.

Update your note from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6, which of course is better, simply go to setting >about phone>software update>download and install phone will reboot and you can get 2.3.6. Do it throug wifi.
