The prince, 15 Oct 2023Sir, would it be wise for me to go for the s10 rather than ... moreYes, i would be a much better option, and If you get the Exynos variant you could install android13 based on One UI or wait for One UI 6android 14 ported rom.
The S10 still gives better performance, quality of software optimization, will still get security updates, and better screen, features.

The prince, 30 Sep 2023Please is this phone still worth buying in oct. 2023?Yes it is. I bought the 8GB RAM refrubushed model for $167 from amazon and I absolutly love it. It comes with a ton of useful features, and is very fast and IMHO is the best value for the price.

I still own and use the S10. 3,5 years now in my possession. Battery has degraded significantly (AccuBattery App shows 2200mAh capacity left out of 3400mAh). 30 min gaming session of Honkai Impact will drop the battery to 64%, stays on wireless charging at work. USB port is dodgy, doesn't accept all cables (charging wont start), on other cables it goes into fast charging but the phone should not be touched at all.
Apart from this its great, OS is still responsive and fluid in any app, games run ok (has some stutter in Honkai Impact when fighting multiple enemies on screen).
Pictures are great, 2x zoom camera is not always working as it should, sometimes the image vibrates on screen, image quality is not great on the zoom camera.
Should change the phone soon because the battery issue is not really ok when I am longer periods away from an outlet (had a battery bank with me before but the cable issue is preventing me to charge the phone ok while on the go).
Thought of replacing the battery at Samsung but there is no guarantee the battery is not old stock and degraded already.
Really a great phone, 1440p screen cant really be found on anything that is S10price (paid 600$ on it at that time). Cameras are marginally better on anything new (I use a Fuji XT20 for landscape photography, close-ups of stuff so I find all phone cameras mediocre compared to a mirrorless).
Its a shame Samsung and phone manufacturers in general kill the phone through the battery being hard to replace and all (not to mention S10 was inefficient on battery use out of the box which made the battery degrade faster through frequent charge discharge cycles). A phone like S10 could easily be used for 5 years without noticing quality issues, I find it sad that phone manufacturers want customers to upgrade every 2 years, waste of money since all new phones are marginally better than the previous ones but more expensive.

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2023My family have favoured samsung phones for years after bad ... moreI had an s10 for more than 4 years and it was a brilliant phone. If you are having problems with fingerprint recognition then opt for facial recognition. Much quicker and easier. I also had problems with fingerprint recognition. If your finger was not centred precisely then you had a problem. I instead opted for facial recognition and have had no problems ever since. I now have an s23 and it is even better than my s10 and I have opted directly to facial and bypassed finger totally. However the one area in which I preferred the s10 was the positioning of the power button. On the s23 it is on the side beneath the volume buttons and it is too easy to press volume instead of power. Other than that the s23 is perfect.

My family have favoured samsung phones for years after bad experiences with other brands. This right here is not the worst samsung, it is the single worst phone I have ever encountered, first the fingerprint sensor literally does not work at all, brand new phone, no screen protector, still fails to register my fingerpint and can't even get through the initial set up without it timing out.
Despite on paper having faster processing power than a pixel 5, this is slower than my old nokia 5.1
Despite being a relatively small phone the buttons are placed awkwardly so it isn't easy to pick it up and hit the power button to turn the screen on without using both hands
The "bixby" button is an utter waste of time and space including it, it is objectively worthless
Depending on where you live you can get this or a pixel 5 for around the same price, 100% I would recommend the pixel, hell I would even recommend going back and getting a pixel 3xl over this and that is coming from someone who despises google and actively "degoogles" all of my technology. This is simply an awful phone, very dissapointing
