After 2 weeks of usage, and 2 updates, the battery life has improved to 6 hrs screen on time. Standby power drain has also reduced significantly. I do not game, so no heating issues for me. Will update the thread next in about a week.
I have a Exynos S20FE.

After a system update, there was a small improvement in battery life, but the duration remains ridiculous. The problem of overheating is still unacceptable. It's notable. It is a very expensive S20 member to have these problems.

So, I finally got this phone for my birthday. 4G version. No overheating problems, it's very smooth and faster than my A70. Though I find display is smaller than A70. Emojis are a lot bigger on A70 than on this one. So, if you don't like BIG screens this is a nice choice. I like it though. But get a case and tempered glass because the phone is very thin. By the way, Battery is the same as my A70. Mine doesn't drain too fast.

Please share Battery endurance of this 4G version and Benchmark testing as well... There is a huge difference between the S20 FE 5G and S20 FE 4G due to the chipsets..... Im getting really bad battery time right now since I own the 4G Exynos variant. I relied on the testing you guys did on 5G qualcomm variant.

I have some questions. Sorry I don't know where to post these so I put them here.
When a VPN is activated there used to be a notification or a status bar that said connected to VPN. you could tap it and it would show the data transferred, time connected and a button to disconnect.
Now It's just not there. there's only a key icon on the top right and nothing to click on.
Is this an android change or oneui? is this also the case for you? any way to bring it back?
And also why is the battery on device care so bad in oneui2? it used to show system idle, screen and call idle from last time charged and would even show it in mAh but now it just says screen on time, does not report idle, from day and not last time charged and no mAh.
Why do they break things that already worked....
Which battery app do you recommend to fix this?
Also the screen modes. there's now only vivid and natural. no adaptive or cinema or picture which were the different color modes of sRBG, adobe RBG and the hdr color space.

I bought an S20 FE 4G with an Exynos processor. I have no words to express my disappointment with the overheating, crashes and extremely high battery consumption. I have already returned the product and am waiting for a refund.

I want to write about my experience with the s20 fe (4g variant with exynos 990). I bought 2 of them, one for me and another for my girlfriend, because everybody was recommending samsung brand. After 2 week I returned them and that's why:
Display problems on both phones. When scrolling and keeping the finger unmoved on the screen, the screen is shaking slightly, like moving 1 pixel up and down constantly. Besides this it has problems with zooming in and out on everything, on every app, not just for photos is gallery, and i think it is a hardware problem rather then software. For example when zooming out on a photo or google maps, when figer are starting to get closer, it starts to have some lags, os not zooming out smoothly like a normal phone.
Battery is bad and for a 4500 mah it is very bad. The percentage was going down on my eyes. I was getting 4 hours of sot, with normal usage, no games and other heavy apps and it is not enough for me.
The phone is charging too slow for a 2020 flagship.
Exynos 990 has big overheating problems even with mild usage, especially whan using cameras, dont know how bad is in games because i don't play games, but i think it should be very bad. By default it is clocked at 70% of it's power so why to by a flagship device that doesn't use all its power?
The software optimization is bad. I dont know why, but my old oneplus 6t is more fluid and less lag when scrolling through internet pages using Chrome. Using the power mode solves some micro lag problems but make phone hotter and drains it faster.
The phone itself opens apps in background that drain the battery.
There is no possiblity to switch off the camera shutter sound.
The selfie camera is not located in the best spot and it is gray with silver circle around it. It is very noticeable on a black screen or when watching YouTube.
The optical fingerprint is not even close as good as a physical one. It is slow and sometimes you should put the finger twise.
Things that I liked:
-phone size and good built, i dont mind if it is plastic
-flat screen and its colors, 120hz
-stereo speakers sound is good
- good, fast and stable connectivity with bluetooth and wifi
- good cameras make beautiful photos
So after using two weeks i have returned both phones. It was not what I was waiting for, and even not close "a flagship without compromises" how samsung is promoting this phone. Maybe some of this problems will be redressed in next updates, but i didnt want to wait and risk my 1100 euro investment (s20 fe costs 550euro in romania). In two weeks i got 2 updates and nothing had changed.
Now searching for new phones... No more samsung :)

Harry, 02 Nov 2020What did you do to the settings or your usage pattern to ge... moreFollowing changes-
1. system wide dark mode
2. 2G network (as am at home so wifi works for data). 4G networks are still spotty in India.
3. Screen at 10% brightness, adaptive brightness switched off. Switched on only when on the road
4. High contrast wallpaper on screen
5. Medium power saving mode enabled
6. Adaptive battery enabled, put unsed apps to sleep enabled
7. Put app to sleep enabled individually for most power draining apps identified from battery menu
8. Location services turned off. App permissions checked to enable "location access when in use" only, not all the time
9. Wifi and bluetooth scanning off
10. Camera enabled screen unlock off. Only fingerprint and pattern lock enabled.
Took about a week to start showing impact on battery life. Read through my comments below too.

Rony sur, 01 Nov 2020Ghosh Da I am from Bengal hooghly district I am confused b... morePlease don't bother upgrading to the S20 Fe. The battery life is a little to early to speak of. I have an S20 Fe and my brother has the S10 lite. He doesn't have a reason to be jealous of me as the phone has just the 120hz display and dual speakers as extras. He has the bigger display. But the difference is tiny. Both have the same battery capacity. The chips are manufactured on the same process node.
