Anonymous, 29 May 2023Wow I need your help on thisIt would be pretty simple tbh, heres some steps for you (Just remember to do this at your own risk, no one is responsible for any damage done by you, so just consider before doing so, okay?)
1. Remove all google and/or samsung accounts and then factory reset
2. Connect to WiFI, then check for an update. This should enable the OEM Unlock opinion.
3. Enable Developer mode by tapping the Build Number several times (You can find it via the android version opinion)
4. After enabling developer mode and sucessfully removing all Samsung and Google accounts using the factory reset you just did, enable USB debugging and OEM Unlock.
5. Before booting the device onto Download mode, make sure to download Odin (You would need this to flash TWRP on Download Mode later). You can find it at https://odindownload.com . Also download the TWRP file for it, you can find it at their website easily.
5.5. Also make sure to download the ROM files for this device. I would recommend lineage OS 20 (Of course with NikGapps since lineageOS has no google apps preinstalled on it) which comes with the latest Android 13 stock software with 0 bloatware included. Magisk is opinional but its recommend if you're using it as your main phone, so you could flash safetyfix using it to make your banking apps work. For LineageOS20: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/lineageos-20-0-android-13-signature-spoofing-ota-updates-for-s8-s8-note8.4485525/ . For NikGapps: https://sourceforge.net/projects/nikgapps/files/Releases/NikGapps-T/ . For Magisk: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases .
6.Afterwards, turn off your phone. Then boot it onto Download mode by pressing Volume down + Bixby + Power Key.
7.Press Volume up to unlock your device. Then the device is sucessfully on download mode and the bootloader should be unlocked
8. Using odin, flash the correct device TWRP recovery using the AP opinion. Make sure to toggle off "Auto Reboot". To flash TWRP onto your device use an USB Transfer cable to do so.
9. After it flashes sucessfully, turn off your device by Power key + Volume down. Then boot your device to recovery mode by Power Key + Bixby Key + Volume Up Key. Your device should load at TWRP Mode.
9.5 Wipe your device by doing "Format Data". After your device is wiped, flash your ROM, NikGapps and Magisk files using an USB Transfer Cable or a SD card.
10. After doing so, flash the LineageOS rom along with the selected NikGapps package. Magisk is opinional but its recommended if youre using it as your main phone so you could flash Safetynet fix using it to bypass safetynet and use your banking apps without issues.
11. After installation is sucessfull, reboot onto system. Allow few minutes for the device to boot, and if it goes sucessfull, congrats!
But still, incase it fails, make sure to backup your device in case it occurs.

Anonymous, 30 May 2023Samsung phones have battery issues. When the battery reache... moreTrue. This is my second samsung phone, first one I have purchased 9 years ago that was my first flagship phone, main issue I faced was with network reception and battery. I thought samsung improved in terms of these two components but it turns out that samsung is yet to improve. On top that which you rightly pointed backcover coming out. Well what is the point to market ip68 stuff.

Samsung phones have battery issues. When the battery reaches 5% then the phone lasts only 1-2 minutes of usage. I used other brand devices also and the issue was not present in them. I used 2 Samsung phones before it and the same was the case with those phones. Sometimes it happens below 10% instead of 5%.
Also, many users are facing the back panel popping out problem. The adhesive used by Samsung is of cheap quality.

Should I flash custom rom onto this device once a One UI 6/ Android 14 custom rom is published?
I can still use magisk to hide safetynet so this makes it more safer to do so
I have lineageOS of Android 13 on my backup S8 and it does so well there. I wonder if I should do the same about my main S20 FE 5G since its support its about to end, let me know what to do so

                  Better that than phone A54😘

I bought mine in July 2022. I get 6 to 6.30 hours of screen on time when the device is always connected to 5G network, 120hz always on, no power savings. When the device is connected to only 4G network, 120hz on and no power savings then I get nearly 8 hours of screen on time. The software of the device is up to date. I am using 25W Samsung original charger and cable to charge my device from day 1. It charges my device completely in nearly 1 hour. I charge my device up to 100%.

I paid full price for the device, I am gonna use the device to its full potential. When the battery wears off, I am gonna simply get it replaced from Samsung.

It was the first time from purchase (September 2022) when battery dropped to 8% and suddenly it was dropping further 1% per minute or less. Last 3% were lost literally in seconds.

From the beginning I'm using 85% battery care (though I charge it to 100% once or twice a month), never discharged it to 0% before and never leave it connected for the night. I suppose that in spite of all those careful procedures battery is slowly starting to wear off.

Today I realised ( kind of shocked ) that my battery of s20 fe 5g is going down from 10% to 1% in 5 minutes. Usually I keep charging between 20% to 85%, so never had a chance to find.

My phone is still under warranty however going to service center and spending time and energy seems tiring. But this is strange to see as device is few months used. I am not heavy user. Does anyone else facing the same issue ?

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2023The Bluetooth of my S20 FE 5G is not turning on. Is someone... moreI don't have any issues at all other than the horrendous 3% / hr battery drain overnight even on standby with power saving mode on. Samsung service center says they will need to replace the motherboard , amoled screen and the charging port at a cost higher than the price I bought my S20 FE brand new if they are to solve the problem.

Being out of warranty, and no more software support to correct or even just allevaiate a bit, the battery drain problem, I've decided to dispose of my 256GB S20 FE 5G and traded it with an S23+ 256GB, with the S20 FE getting a trade in value of half the price I paid for it. I still had to pay additional cash, but given the S23+'s retail price, it's still a great deal since they gave additional promo discount off the retail price in addition to the trade in value of my S20 FE 5G, and they even added a Galaxy watch 5 - 44mm for free as a part of the trade in promo. The cost of the watch 5 itself and the trade in value already exceeds the original price I bought my S20 FE 5G 256GB for.

So I suggest that those having issues (Bluetooth, battery drain problem, etc.) with their S20 FE 5G after the latest OneUI 5.1 update, trade in their S2 FE 5G because the phone is already unsupported and whatever battery drain or software issues it has, it's no longer going to be fixed or alleviated by any future software update from Samsung since it's no longer supported.

As a bonus it's good news also since you won't have to linger anymore in this forum which has a rabid S20 FE 5G fanatic lurking behind who attacks legit S20 FE users who report probleme or criticize the defects of the phone model (S20 FE 5G) he also happens to own. 🤣

Google Assistant and Samsung Bixby have many overlapping functions.
Is it advisable to activate Google Assistant and disable Bixby?
Will it hamper operation of the phone in terms of speed and/or reduced functionality?
