I have the Exynos version for about a week now and it's really dissapointing. The battery is dead after 16 hours. During use, for most of the time the phone is really warm and this makes it unpleasant to handle.
The software is just old, brings nothing new if compared to Galaxy phones launched in recent years.
But the most disturbing part for me is that it has issues streaming in Netflix, where the video can't keep the pace with the sound. I've tested it on several wifi networks and it's not a network issue. Everything is up to date in terms of phone software and Netflix app.
Also other apps are showing random laggs like Google Maps. I suspect the heating and probably some throtling for that.
Such a poor phone by Samsung.

QB NoDA, 30 Mar 2022Corect. My phone is warm when use normal app.This has not been the case with my 256GB S22 unlocked. So far, the only time I have felt my phone get warm is after running a benchmark or when I took pictures for ten minutes. Running Android Auto wireless, listening to music etc. has not caused it to get warm in my use. And I have never felt it got hot.
But then my S21 never got hot either. Unlike my S10 which would get hot sometimes just sitting in my pocket. When I wasn't even using it. It would get so hot sometimes I would need to take it out of my pocket. Which was crazy.

And then you mention TSMC. That will be the Snapdragon Gen1+. Which will be running a a higher clock. So assuming the TSMC process is better, it probably won't make much of a difference, with the clock increases that SoC will have.
And then it will also be in a different phone. Not in the S22 line.

Personally I skipped over the S20, since I was still on a two year upgrade cycle. So I went from an S10 to an S21. But now I'm on a one year upgrade cycle. So I went from an S21 to an S22. And I will get an S23 next year.

Check MKBHD review he also had 4:30h. I want to warn people not to make same mistake as me. Stay away from any SD8gen1 phones and wait for TSMC made Snapdragon, will be much less power hungry.

aaronwt, 29 Mar 2022People already complain about the battery life with the S22... moreNot true!! I bought S22 and switched back to my 2 year old S20. Why? S20 has MUCH better battery life and has 12GB or RAM. As per accubattery, screen on time on S20 is 5:30h and S22 only 4:30h.

Bought this phone in India, s20 is no more in sale here and s21 costs 60k only 128gb model is available. I was astonished to see s22 doesn't have the option to set screen resolution to 720p which was always my safe bet in s20+ that I had earlier, because it will easily last about an hour or so more by doing it. Honestly I feel s20+ is a much better phone still than this one as it has better features but I got lines on the display hence had to change. Otherwise would have used that phone for 1 or more
years. S22 ultra having better hardware than s22 is fine but crippling software features among the same model is totally unacceptable. Wish samsung brings back the resolution setting to s22 in update. All phones starting from s8 had it not sure what is the need to remove it

But either way, the S22 is better in every way than the S20, except for the screen resolution. You couldn't pay me to use an S20 over an S22.
