But I have not used it enough for it adapt to my usage. I only set it up late last week. And I only use it on weekends and in the weekday evenings. At work I use my Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Fit 2.
I never use the always on screen. And it hasn't been able to make it 18 hours yet. While my Galaxy Watch Active has no problem with that. But I've also had multiple updates plus a dozen watch faces downloaded during my first few days of use. So I'm hoping things will be better next weekend.

Another day another disappointment. Max I can get is around 4h screen on time, which is much less than S20 and S21 had. I guess Samsung is really trying hard to end up like LG...

I have a Galaxy watch which connects beautifully to my s10 and I can get about 2 days charge with everything enabled other than 'display always on'. With the display always on I can just squeeze one day. My question to you is do you find the Samsung4 any major improvement over the other watches since it has dispensed with the Tizen operating system. I should add that using my watch as a telephone also chews through the battery.

ALPHABOY17, 06 Mar 2022Battery sucks even on ultra version. yes, standby time is d... moreStandby on my Qualcomm S22 is easily over two days. I tested it out but I needed to put it on the charger after 48 hours. Since I needed it fully charged for the next day. And I only slow charge overnight, wirelessly.
I used it some for the short trips around home this past weekend. But I had it mostly sitting idle for the weekend. After 48 hours I was at 17%. So if I had not used Android Auto Wireless for 40 minutes total and had not used it a few times for the AMC app, it would have probably been closer to 25%.
Which is easily worse than my S21 was. But I have not even received the first software update for my Qualcomm S22. So I hope the battery usage improves. Since I could easily go several days in standby with my S21.
Right now with regular use I can go all day on my S22. But it is certainly pretty low after 14 hours. With several hours of screen time and a couple of hours of Android Auto Wireless. Plus being constantly connected to a Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Fit 2, or Galaxy Watch 4.
Right now the battery life on my S22 is noticeably worse than my S21 was. But, I can still make it all day . It's just the battery life left is much lower on my S22 at the end of the day.

Nuradin, 07 Mar 2022Gsmarena: Why don't you make battery life test. Our la... moreI'm sure they will eventually test the battery life of the S22. I just hope they test both the Exynos and Qualcomm versions.
But Samsung also has not updated the software of the Qualcomm S22 yet. Usually things improve after the first software update. At least that was the case with my previous Galaxy S phones.

zzzzz, 04 Mar 2022is there a significant difference in camera?
did you just ... moreBefore trade in my S21 256GB unlocked was $850 at launch. Before trade in my S22 256GB unlocked was $800. Although for my S21 I got $550 trade in value for my S10. Currently I only have $390 trade in for my S21. But supposedly Samsung said they will reevaluate it after they look at the trade in. Since the S21 trade in values were up to $550, last week. So they said they will supposedly increase my original trade in value of $390.
But I also ended up getting $200 in trade in credits which I used toward a Galaxy Watch 4. Plus I am supposed to get around $45 in cashback from TopCashBack. But then if they do change my trade in values I'm not sure if that will nix what TopCashBack was going to give me? Since the bill will change.

KevinYew , 05 Mar 2022Yep, I've noticed it being really laggy and unresponsi... morehahahaha yes, makes sense
i have used moto devices earlier, got usually 1 major update and then the phone runs smoothly for next 2-4 years, seriously
more updates= more ruining of performance
I don't know why people are crazy for updates
even if the phone runs on 1-2 android versions back, it is completely fine as long as it runs smooth.

Hu, 06 Mar 2022I checked that out but it is really thick too. Even thicker... moreIf you're looking for a pro grade camera, then go for the S22, but for an every day user the S21FE is fine for photo's. It's lightning fast in comparison for my midrange A51 I had, but that's an A range so that's why. The speakers are a bit better for volume, going by GSM's test. So it really depends on what you are looking for. The battery is much better in the S21FE by the sounds of it. I doubt very much that for an every day user that you'll notice that much difference in the camera. It performs any task perfectly fine, with absolutely no lag whatsoever. It has the same 120Hz screen, the fingerprint scanner is fast and accurate and despite people saying that it's not a big step up from the S20FE 5G, they have tweaked a few aspects of it. (Camera, processor and it'll get android software updates for an extra year or 2). Hope this and my last comment helps.

Mariam.Mach, 06 Mar 2022Hi, could you suggest this, or s21fe? and why?I have had the S21 FE for just over a week now. The battery life is not brilliant for me, but I have it on 120Hz and it's not adaptive either. I can get through a full day on a charge if I'm just streaming music and browsing social media, but if I start watching videos, the battery goes down fast. If the screen is off and the phone is in standby for long periods of time then it lasts ages.

It's 3rd day using S22. Charged full in the morning now is 11:30 and phone is at 40%... So bad battery life, worse than my 2year old S20. Don't count on more than 4:30h screen on Time.

babak, 04 Mar 2022go for zenfone 8, zenfone has all things you needI checked that out but it is really thick too. Even thicker. I'm thinking of the Xiaomi 11 lite NE, it's rly light and thin but 90hz refresh, a bit bigger though and with only slightly bigger battery. Hard to find a perfect phone.

Charged S22 today at 14:00 to 100%, now is 23:00 and i have 6% left. So basically battery last half day, no way you can get full day unless you do nothing. Accu Battery estimates 4h screen time. New S22 has worse battery than 2 year old S20.... disappointed!

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2022I was wondering why GSMArena didn't do base S22 yet.
... moreBattery sucks even on ultra version. yes, standby time is decent, yes, one day is do-able on ultra and plus version. But these are supposed to NOT be mainstream phones used by majority people, on basic apps. These are "flagship" phones used by power users, and trust me, a power user will not be happy with such battery life, especially when these phones are NEW. Imagine two years later.
Vanilla s22's battery life is a MEME, no matter how much throttling or limiters you put on, no matter how much you optimise the background usage, it will be MEME. Which is probably the biggest irony here, samsung got MORE battery life out of a note 8 than s8+, where note 8 had smaller battery, larger display, AND overclocked chipset. But we all know that is history today.
my s8 can still do one day, after 5 years. When it was new, it could do at least double and half more!
