I seen this in store its not small, small is S10e 5.8 or 5 range. Peoples small has changed.. sure i wouldn’t go as small as say 4.7 iphone. But i think 5.8 is really the spot or 6 .

        Anonymous, 20 Feb 20226.1 is not smal . Tell that to S6 , s6 edge , s7 , s7 edge,... moreGoogle says Android 12 needs 6gb, so 8gb is more than enough.
I dont get why the fuss on the ram. Why you need so much of it? More ram doesnt make your phone go faster... Ram is used to keep open apps and its info. You only run out of ram if you keep so many apps open and dont close them, and really, I dont get why people need to have 100 apps kept open if they don't use them. Just open and close them and problem solved. The 2022 high end chips have so much power that the apps open real fast anyway.
And games? I saw that no game in android needds more than 4gb of RAM to run, so...

They put it because Samsung and LG were in a "resoution war" back then, both companies tried to out-do the other... and 1080 was perfectly fine and putting more than that in the end was stupid and caused an unnecessary drain in battery. Once they moved from 1440p to 1080p in the S21, the battery improved quite a lot. Not a coincidence. The bigger the resolution the more battery it needs.

            Jacksonzxop, 20 Feb 2022 wanting 1440p on a small compact 6.1 phone display😂. Not s... more6.1 is not smal . Tell that to S6 , s6 edge , s7 , s7 edge, s8 , s9 and all had 1440p screen. S10 and S20 with 6.1 and 6.2 had 1440p screen.
I had S10e with 5.8 screen and after that S10 with 6.1 screen . They have the same cpu , the same gpu. The difference is that S10 has 1440p screen and 8gb ram and s10e has 1080p and 6gb ram. As much i love compact smartphone , i prefer s10 because the display quality is very noticeable when you play some quality game , and 6gb ram is very slow.
Sure now even 8gb is not enough for android 12.
And that is not most important , when some producers give us years after years some smartphone with some specs. We expect next year succesor to have better specs or at lest keep this specs. If they can not improve much those specs i understand , but to downgrade specs it is a big problem.
            S10 1440p 8gb ram
            S20 1440p 12gb ram
            S21 1080p 8gb ram
            S22 1080p 8gb ram
Where do we go now ?

I'd prefer to avoid Exynos all the way tho, i've had the S8 for 4 years and it always overheated like a mf. Even during winter it would heat up like an oven
It only got worse with time and now it even freezes the whole damn phone
I don't have much of a choice tho as the only Snapdragon phones i can buy are all Chinese and i'd like to stay clear of those. No Chinese phones will be getting in my house!

1080+ is more than enough for this size, and 1440p makes no sense, complete overkill and it brings nothing but a waste of battery.

S22 is smaller than S21 so the battery is smaller aswell. You can hardly find any other small phone like this with a larger battery... Pixel 5? Come one, compare all the features of both and the camera modules of both... Pixel 5 has tiny camera package compared to S22

3700mah is quite good for this size, it is actually smaller than S21... although for me they should have kept the previous size and previous battery size, but oh well

The only good option in the last few years was S20 BUT with Snapdragon 865 (one of the best SD chip in history), since Exynos 990 with small battery in regular S20 was a big NO!

I would have bought the S20 if it didn't come with that garbage Exynos
I guess my best option would be the S21 Ultra now that it's cheaper even tho i don't like big phones

                                  Upgrades are too small.
At best one should wait 3 years before they buy a new model.

You cant forget that all phones with over 4500 mha have a display over 6.5'.
The purpose here is to create a compact phone with good specs for people that likes to have a small phone. And of course must be affordable and competitive so in somehow they need to cut in something.
