Hi Team
What is the difference between USA and international version? Similarly I have found UAE version and International version when one of my friend visited UAE, but here it is only mentioned USA and International version. It only impact band usage or other differences too.
Regards,
Shashwat Singh

s23+ is tempting.
S23+ or wait January for s24+ ?
Either s24+ could be significantly better, or it could lower the price of s23+ ?
I don't like those square and glass new designs anyway. that's why I hesitate, putting 1000 in a fragile phone ( yes glass is very fragile even gorilla super diamond ramses III safety sapphire bullshit whatsoever, also it seems they glue the motherboard to the glass so almost unrepairable or at last least way too expensive when broken, good marketing trick for forcing buying new stuff making them uncessesary fragile by pretending it's cute and smart and environment lying things)
I can't find any renewed in excellent shape so that solution excluded for me.

Had a cash discount and freebies (free Samsung watch and fast charger). It's a great phone overall, apart from the webview crashes/issues everytime there's a webview update. Some units like mine also have the minor wideangle camera issue (bananagate). I wish it had the camera processing of my Pixel 7 phone and it would have been perfect. Wouldn't need to carry my Pixel 7 phone anymore if it was the case.

Bought for £699 with trade-in of a broken phone. Got a free silicone case, 12 months Disney+ & £10 store voucher, plus other stuff from Samsung Boost making this essentially £600 phone. Half the price of an iPhonePM for a flagship experience, nice one Samsung.

Samsung should recall the defective units but I know it wouldn't. Samsung has become a low class company.

Azo, 23 Aug 2023Have you updated it to August Security Patch which is over ... moreI updated my S23+ to the August security patch, but the "bananagate" defect is still there. After the update, the photos are better quality, but there are still blurry areas in the photos (document, landscape, macro), they are just less noticeable. So my assumption that the Samsung S23+ has a lens defect is confirmed, updates can't fix the lens, they can only reduce the effect of the defect. I wonder if Samsung will acknowledge officially the Samsung S23 "bananagate" problem?

Azo, 02 Sep 2023I have already said update your phone to latest AUGUST Secu... moreI am updated to the latest version thanks, but it's still there. Samsung only increased the sharpening to make it less obvious, but it's still there, the 'bananagate' lens defect. That irregular lens defect cannot be corrected in software so lucky for you if you don't have it (or if you don't notice it at all).
It's actually not very visible if you have no comparison and don't know where to look at. I've taken photos of printed text documents with my S23+ and you'd think it's normal looking - but on careful examination, some parts of the document are really noticeably blurry or out of focus (the blurred area is shaped like a crescent or a banana.) It seems normal at first, thinking it's due to the lens' shallow depth of field but once you compare it side by side, say to those taken by another phone, in my case, my Pixel 7, the defect is very clear. My Pixel 7 takes perfectly sharp close up document photos on the entire area but not my S23+ which has that lens defect.

I have the earlier batch of S23+ which probably belongs to those with lens defects and which Samsung offered in its 'trade in' promos during the launch of the S23 series early this year. Good for you if you don't have the defect. Samsung likely already corrected it in the later S23+ batches.

JonasNa, 22 Aug 2023Samsung S23+ models have a lens defect - pls. google "... moreSoftware update won't solve the bananagate issue but really, unless more than half of what you do with your camera is take document photos or close up photos, it shouldn't be much of an issue. It's there, yes and it's annoying, yes but you barely see it in everyday people, landscape or social photography unless you always pixel peep at 100% or heavily crop your wideangle photos instead of using the 3x telephoto camera which doesn't have the defect.
