Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra stops by Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
A few days after the Galaxy S23 Geekbench results emerged we get our first look at a listing for the alleged Galaxy S23 Ultra bearing the SM-S918U model number. The new Geekbench listing shows the S23 Ultra is equipped with an unnamed chipset bearing the same “kalama” motherboard identifier and a 1+2+2+3 CPU configuration with a prime core clocked at 3.36GHz. Based on past rumors this is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC which was also seen in the Galaxy S23 (SM-S911U) Geekbench listing.
Samsung Galaxy SM-S918U scorecard on Geekbench
The test device managed an impressive single-core score of 1,521 points and a multi-core result of 4,689 points. For context, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Galaxy S22 Ultra tops out at 1,200/3,200 points respectively. The new listing shows the test device with 8GB RAM though we can safely assume the retail versions will bring at least 12GB RAM. We also get confirmation the phone is running Android 13 presumably with OneUI 5 on top.
It remains to be seen if Samsung will also release Exynos-powered Galaxy S23 models as older rumors suggested all 2023 S-series phones will use Qualcomm SoCs while newer reports say Exynos chips are still on the table.
