Only people in certain countries like phones that don’t hurt their hand and weigh down their pocket? Can you tell us which countries have such people and which don’t? The mere notion is quite odd.
And regarding your comment about 4G/5G, Samsung restricts many 5G phones from the US (and many other countries) as well, so it isn’t just about that. In fact, most Samsung budget phones ever produced aren’t available in the US either. This includes among many others: A73, A72, A55, A41, A40, A34, A33, A31, A30, A22 5G/4G, and all M/F/XYZ phones (including the 5G ones).
In fact, in 2023, the ONLY two budget phones sold in the US were the A54/A14 5G. And this year it’s just three phones: A35/A25/A15 5G.

Response: Last I checked, companies produce for the sole purpose of making sales.
Quote: "not necessarily everyone who will purchase an iPhone 16 or 16 Pro want their smaller size"
Response: Oh wow! So until now, the geniuses have been pontificating that more people buying bigger phones means it's BECAUSE OF THE SIZE. Now you do a 180 and say "people buying certain phones isn't necessarily because they like the size". Just wow!
Quote: "this is Apple we're talking about. "
Response: Isn't everyone claiming that Samsung just follows what Apple does?
Quote: "Just because they're doing it doesn't mean more people want compact phones than big ones."
Response: Again, just wow! The pontificators have been shouting from the rooftops that Samsung's big phones is PRECISELY because they somehow "know" that "everyone" wants that size.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2024How'd you get 57% from 2 out of four? Also aren't... more1) Regular 27% and Pro 30% totals 57% compact models combined. Plus 6% and Pro Max 37% totals 43% for the big models.
2) Yes, they are bumping up the pro's DISPLAY to 6.3, which means the actual DEVICE size will still be 6 inches or less, which is still relatively compact. See someone's excellent explanation below on this concept if you have difficulty understanding.

As a wise man would say, the world doesn't revolve around you. You want the right to freely express yourself in this forum, but you aren't giving freedom to those companies to make whatever they want to. It's selfish to say that because you don't like something, then it shouldn't exist.
Imagine spending hours making a nice cake, only for some random dude on the streets to say to your face "nobody's going to want that". How would you feel?

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2024Indeed, the A40 and A41 phones were not released in many co... moreYou see, when a company decides to release a product for more places in the world, production costs, shipment costs and sales targets will soar, which may lead to increased prices for said product. If the product ends up not meeting sales expectations, it will be an even bigger loss of investment for the company.
Of course, still the only true way to prove if people want cheap compact phones is to release them for almost the entire world. But Samsung can't just release every phone for every country because the markets for each country is very different.
For example, the Galaxy A05, A05s, and A15 4G wouldn't sell in North America because they're slowly killing 4G and GSM networks in favor of 5G and CDMA.
The A40 and A41's limited availability could be driven by decreasing consumer demands for smaller phones in most countries, and because competition from Chinese companies who've decided for themselves that virtually *no one* should have compact phones; there isn't a compact flagship, nor mid-ranger from the likes of OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Honor, and Huawei.
Xiaomi only began making compact flagships in 2022 starting with the Xiaomi 13. Many people called it an iPhone wannabe, but Xiaomi had always been an iPhone wannabe since the very start, alongside other Chinese companies.

Last thing, this is Apple we're talking about. Just because they're doing it doesn't mean more people want compact phones than big ones. Their mid-range iPhone SE has never sold nearly as well as their flagships, so Android makers won't bother competing by making their own compact phones.
It's too early to jump to conclusions.

That's probably why the sales weren't as high as they could have been. I love the geniuses who talk about low sale numbers of a compact phone that Samsung didn't even make available in many markets.
How about make a phone available in the whole world before starting to build sand castles in the air out of its sale numbers. You think?

57% of the iPhone 16 series will be the smaller models, the bigger Plus and Pro Max models will only be 43% combined. So Apple knows more people want compact phones. This is also why their mid-range phone (the SE) is small as well.

Samsung would make much more profit with a compact phone like the A56e/A36e/A46 than it does with all these so-called M/F that it only releases to a few countries which means it's a very small market with few buyers. And few buyers doesn't stop Samsung from producing something.

It's just that the same way the size of the A42 isn't relevant to the continuation of the A4X series, the same goes for the size of the A41.

Anonymous, 27 Aug 2024I don't know why people like you have to be so despera... moreWell, everyone chooses to walk their own paths. Some prefer to just sit down and wait for someone to hopefully fix that broken bridge up ahead, while most others will glady stroll through the muddy road just beside it.
The broken bridge might lead you to a more pleasant place, but it can take ages... or maybe an indefinite time until someone eventually repairs it. Meanwhile, the muddy road may be unpleasant for some, but it gets you to your destination quick, even if that destination is just as unpleasant as the road.
Neither path is ideal for everyone, but that's just life in general. People want different things, and there's almost nothing you can do to change their minds, no matter how hard you try to tell them that one path won't lead them anywhere.

Well, here's a fun fact for you. The Galaxy M34 and M14 5G were the 5th and 8th best selling phones on India back in June. They may not be anywhere near the top 10 best selling phones in the world, but apparently that means "almost no one buys them", yeah right.
Because most of these M/F/C series phones are duplicates, they use nearly the same internal parts as their A-series counterparts, such as motherboards, cameras, sensors, etc. Add to their limited availability, and they probably cost almost nothing for Samsung to produce compared to an A35e or A55e.

You want to be accommodated, fine. But your outcries here are not making anyone in the industry change their minds, and you have to understand that. Moreover, you people are just repeating the same comments over and over on multiple forums.
So stop being so petty and in denial whenever you get called out for your repetitive nonsense.
