Samsung Student Store £519 with no discount.

In the UK and Ireland when you buy the S24 FE you can claim a free Watch FE from Samsung.

Amazon or eBay, Galaxy Watch FE is sold for £120 - £150

Whether you keep or sell this watch, this means the phone's cost to you is about £430 (Customer with discounts) or £399 (Student with no discounts).

If you trade in any old broken phone you get £50 off on top, I chose to trade in my ancient phone (£80), so my S24FE cost me personally £439, but because I got the watch, whether I keep it or sell it, this means the real price for this phone for me was about £320

If you choose to trade in a different working phone you might get more.

Whereas if you buy the A55 there was a promotion where you could get the Galaxy Fit 3 for free but it was worth only about £30, I think that promotion is over, but I'm not sure.

I would say the price isn't the best but I think it's ok, but the thing that gets me is while yes I suppose exynos processors are a bit controversial, they can't be SO bad that you can't use your phone because of it. As I said, I'm going to be getting this phone for my sister and mother, and they're no gamers. I mean maybe some candy crush here and there, but just a phone for normal usage.

LuckyX86, 20 Oct 2024I bought this phone for £440 using discounts and a £80 trad... moreAt that price you can get a gaming phone 2 Tecno Pova 6 Pro 6000mAh 12/256 and 2x Micro SD 512gb , So in total you get 5G network, 24GB RAM, 12000mAh, and Storage 1500GB

I bought this phone for £440 using discounts and a £80 trade in. I got the FE watch for free (claim on IMEI), watch retails at £199, but in practice it's worth between £120 and £150. Let's forget about the trade in and let's factor in the price of the watch if sold, making this effectively a £400 phone which is less than what Samsung wants for it's A55 which retails at £435. Of course you can get the A55 for £250 on Amazon brand new, but you sacrifice the cpu and software support, also the A55 is likely to struggle more with new iterations of android which'll come out yearly, whereas the S24 FE is likely to keep up until it becomes obsolete.

The S24 FE is nerfed when compared to the S24 Plus, but let's be honest, these devices are targeted at different people, for example the Plus would give you bragging rights, slimmer bezels and a 0.1 Ghz overclock on some of the cores, in practice this translates to gaining less than 10% boost for at least a 30% price increase, which is just insane.

For context, the £1,199 Pixel Pro XL performs worse in benchmarks than this phone despite being labelled a flagship, so can you really call the Pixel a flagship just because of it's price tag? I don't know, it seems bizarre.

Instead if you choose to buy this phone you are basically getting the S24 Plus, not exactly, but basically. Yes you sacrifice the 20 watt difference in charging speed, but honestly the battery life is okay.

People will say, oh, I could just get a used S24 Plus off of eBay or a used S23 Ultra, for about this price, and that is true if you look at matching the MSRP of £649, but think about it, not everyone wants a slightly degraded battery, slightly outdated hardware (previous models) or a used phone whereas you can already get this phone brand new like two weeks after launch for close to 20% off.

The battery life is fine, it's draining about 10% per intensive hour of SOT, which is not bad but heavy gaming drains it faster. Overnight it drained about 4% for every 7 to 8 hours on standby. Again not too bad for a recent android phone.

The design is asymmetrical, bezels at the bottom are thicker, but honestly this doesn't bother me personally, I had the chance to handle the S23 FE and the silver camera ring was more of a deal breaker, happy to say this isn't the case with the S24 FE.

I found that when holding it, you can easily press something by mistake when gripping it, but as soon as I put it inside of a case this stopped being a problem.

I use phones mostly for web browsing and watching tv, and although this phone is capable of some serious button mashing in Genshin Impact and COD, I just don't have the time.

Overall it sucks that they put a 4700mah battery inside of a 6.7 inch phone but honestly since I'm getting about 97% of the flagship for less than half price, I just can't argue with this, the only reason I didn't go for the A55 is because similar or higher amount of ram doesn't really matter when the engine like the cpu is already half bad to begin with, and although it would probably be enough for me, I get anxious about thinking whether it would last me until 2029, as Exynos 1480 already struggles when compared to the 2400 and the 2400e, and again I know these are different Tiers, different price points, and different target audience, but look if you can get the S24 FE for sub 500, if you keep it for 7 years, it's going to cost you less than replacing your A55 before 2029.

Before that, the phone heated up. After I have done such customisation, I do not know what the heating up is.

People should take into consideration that phones' SoCs are so small and, at the same time, so capable that there is no way they do not heat up. Some more, but they all heat up on demanding tasks. Vapour chambers are not ventilators like in laptops or game consols. Android phones because of working of more backgrounds apps heat more than iOS phones, so one should put apps in deep sleep mode and it will correct the lacks of Android OS.

They ditched the A7 line and replaced it with this, so this = A75?

I mean, even if they try to make it better, those chunky bezels in 2024 (nearly 2025) are huge disappointment for a lot of people. I just don't get it, why they are continuing on releasing such thing if all other brands are having a slim bezel in their cheap phones?
The only answer that comes to mind is "They don't care about you".

Hi, any S24 FE users here? I would like to ask how is the battery life on this phone and how much screen on time do you usually get?

Been using it since 2... moreWell, if you're an average user and you don't need a new phone right now, you should definitely wait for the A56. Not much detail about the A56 currently other than the fact that it will use Exynos 1580.

There's also the A36 on the horizon, which will reportedly use a Snapdragon processor, so do keep an eye on that one too.

I'm currently using Samsung A52. Been using it since 2021 and considering to upgrade to Samsung S24 FE. Is it worth the upgrade or should I wait for Samsung A56 to come out to compare which one is better for the price?

I'm a bit anxious about the chipset. I have a family member using Samsung A54 with Exynos chipset and they said that that phone has overheating issues.

I don't really care about Samsung Dex because I'm just an average user.

I do some mobile gaming but not the ones that require high specs requirements. My another concern would be on the photo processing. Since my current phone has a Snapdragon chipset, I believe that it's better at processing photos than Exynos does. But feel free to debunk this.

Any pure and genuine opinion is really appreciated (no Chinese brand fanboys please) 🙏🏻
