Vituccio, 03 Feb 2025Hard battle: Pixel 9 Pro vs Samsung S25+, for me. What m... morePixel is minimalistic and has somewhat better camera. Samsung has cool interface and great customization alongside with many features. You can try them both before buying. My dad likes Pixel more as its very simple to use. I like Samsung more as its a joy to use.

Vituccio, 03 Feb 2025Hard battle: Pixel 9 Pro vs Samsung S25+, for me.
What m... moreI tested the Pixel 9 Pro and S25 (smaller model) because I care about the same things as you. I can only tell you this much: the processor is more than you think. Battery life S24 (Exynos) vs. S25 is already a difference. But the S25+ is also good and very handy compared to other 6.7-inch devices, but cameras and charging speed are weak in comparison. I also considered it briefly, but decided against it.
The normal S25 can be covered by it, as the compact size alone is unique and the price is significantly lower. It was also able to prevail against my P9 Pro, despite better battery life, as the software at Samsung offers more possibilities and the standby consumption is much better. The P9 Pro is the highest quality smartphone with the better camera for me, but as I said, the S25 is more important to me in everyday life with its advantages: very handy, best processor, passable camera, cheaper than the other two.

Sorry I realized this comment section is for S25, not S25+.
But S25 is very interesting to me too as it is just the same device but more compact.
I'm worried about the battery with this base model so I'm actually discussing more on the Plus.
Any opinions would be highly appreciated and helpful, thank you

Hard battle: Pixel 9 Pro vs Samsung S25+, for me.
What matters to me is:
- battery: at least 6-8 hours SOT when new and optimized,
- back cameras performance (I do 95% point and shoot, 5% post edit),
- size: between S25 base model and P9P is my perfect size, similar to my actual Samsung S21 base model; I may be ok with the size of S25+ too.
- UI smoothness and productivity options like split screen/resize app in a window: Samsung does have this, I don't know about Pixel.
screen visibility under the sunlight and with hot temperatures, as I live in South Italy.
- AI for high quality results when erasing/creating things from a picture and for quickly copying subjects from one picture to another.
NB: I'm actually confused about the Google policy regarding letting Samsung users to almost fully benefit of the same AI features we can find on Pixel phones. Gemini is available to all Android users and Google Photos too, letting anyone use the Magic Editor saving up to 10 edited pictures per month for free. So Samsung users can actually benefit of both Galaxy AI and most of the Google AI features, right?
Please let me know if I'm wrong and what do you think about the future policies of both Google and Samsung regarding AI tools.
Here I recap what I found regarding the 2 smartphones from my point of view:
- Pixel 9 Pro: smooth, great camera; clean UI; great screen brightness, battery life probably not so impressive for a flagship, SOT could be like 6 hours? The camera bump is thick but could be useful when using the phone on a flat surface providing a nice slight inclination.
- Samsung S25+: just released and still no interesting reviews, but I can assume it is just a little improvement over the last Plus model with a Snapdragon chipset (S23+ here in Europe, as the S24+ is equipped with Exynos instead); camera only ok for a flagship: how much can AI/chipset improve the results with the same hardware as previous Galaxys? smooth and customizable UI, thin camera rings are nice, battery life, probably 7 hours of SOT? Nice thin design and thinner bezels compared to P9P.
It is not a matter of price as I don't mind about little differences and anyway I can get both, 512 GB, for about 900 euro.
I don't like Apple.
Oppo X8 Pro interesting too but missing the flat screen, a deal breaker for me as I'm used to have a tempered glass on the screen and a cover.
What do you think?

I would be grateful for a battery test. I'm wondering how this phone compares to the Pixel 9 (or Pixel 9 Pro) in terms of battery.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2025Battery?Phone is great, very fast.
*Battery is good too, I got 10-12hrs OST.
*Camera is ok, nothing special, 3x optical is nice, it's ok up to 10x, then it gets super ugly lol
I had S9 before for 6years xD, so a change is pretty big.

Ugh, navy color was so good in images, but in reality it is ruined by diffusive reflections from the back panel. It's like haze over otherwise solid color.

Had this phone for a few days now. It's a beast. SD 8 Elite performance is insane (coming from old crappy Exynos). I didn't notice a single stutter in Genshin on max settings and phone barely gets warm. Don't get fooled by compact size, because of tiny bezels screen is almost as large as big phones from few years ago. For me it's perfect. Glad I didn't go with the Plus model. Oh and I highly recommend getting official anti-glare protector, it's gamechanger. So this is my actual mini-review, maybe for someone it will be more useful than mindless dumb trolling here.

JayJay, 31 Jan 2025Question for people who own a new Samsung S25 series: how ... moreHello, I'm in the UK in an area of weak 5G. My last phone, a Sony Xperia 10 iv, would constantly switch between 4G and 5G, creating an unstable connection. So far the S25 has held 5G no problem and achieved 50 mpbs download speeds (a luxury in rural UK)
