SAM, 20 Feb 2025Ain't much of a difference between Exynos 2400 & S... moreI made my decision. I will NOT be getting any device from Samsung for now. Because of the ancient slow 25w charging. Unless the A36 or A56 surprises us. Deal breakers for me are the overall size and weight (I would still say a Pixel 8/9, Xiaomi 14/15 or even a Moto Edge 50 Neo IMO are perfect sizes for me), fast charging (45w?) and yes the cameras; a decent/ mid of the road chipset would suffice for me. it has to support either Dolby Atmos or universal spatial audio with a bit of bass and hi-res audio support are also deal breakers for me. I'm happy to wait what Nothing will bring out to the table too with my aforementioned "requirements". Any more advice?

Though the deals right now (£150 off + free 67w fast charging brick included) are rather tempting.
What do you guys think?

No change in design , I don't know why they are doing like this . Simply selling high price without any new innovation. No one should buy new mobile then only this brand like samsung and apple will change some new

Gino76ph, 18 Feb 2025Even though it's an Exynos chipset?Ain't much of a difference between Exynos 2400 & SD unless you're a hardcore gamer, it does the day to day job quite well. If you start pixel peeping the pictures or are glued to the phone 24x7 then you might notice some difference.

Gino76ph, 19 Feb 2025The Pixel 9's price has reverted back to it's ori... morethe 14t is the only one of the three that significantly outpaces on charging, as even though the pixel 9 is rated at 45w, itll hit 100% after the s25 (you can just check the review)
i believe the s25 is the only one with true bypass charging of the 3 as well, if that matters for you, else its really indifferent. no chipset in the price range is going to really disappoint you, unless youre trying to emulate switch at higher than native res or something.

Comparing it with a Nord 3 in many ways it is better. If only i could get my head around the supposed focus hunting issues when taking a video.
I'm inclined to sideline the S24 not because of it's chipset but because the size is just a bit too small for me. And the charging times is slow. And it's got only 8GB RAM.
Any more alternatives to the Pixel 9 / Xiaomi 14T / S25? (nothing bigger or more expensive).

i really wish gsmarena would actually list what has bypass charging, as its really not a standard feature in most android phones (no, its not just limiting your battery to 80%)

Gino76ph, 18 Feb 2025Even though it's an Exynos chipset?e2400 is roughly equivalent to an 8g2 in cpu efficiency, and ties a d9400 in gpu efficiency. its a decent chipset, as we do not live in the "mongoose" era anymore.

Apart from the chipset and the newer One UI 7 Samsung it seems is regressing and stagnating. Still 25w charging, display not a tad bigger (6.3" the very least), so-so camera system, display, etc. People are clearly and unanimously disappointed.
I also heard that the base S24 camera photo processing is a tad better than the base S25.
With all the discounts I have right now (birthday discount, Valentines Day discount, app discount, trade-in discount) I could get the base S24 for well under £500. Use my S24 as a future trade-in device for the S25 late this year or in the new year before the S26 arrive.
So, Should i go for the S24 this year then?

I am giving up on Samsung.
It was the most innovative company, but now it has become boring.
Looking at the S25 serie and the coming A serie A26, 36, 56 there is zero innovation, all the budget is spent on marketing and advertising.
Time to have a look to the chinese companies ?

Anonymous, 16 Feb 2025You are just trying to justify the money you spent. S24 alr... moreNo point discussing S24 so much here. This is for S25 discussions and not S24. And you are not supposed to upgrade from S24 to S25. This is a giant waste of money which you should be spending on making your life experience better on travels and things like that. Only people with 4-5 year old phones should be upgrading to S25 and for them it's a giant upgrade, like it was for me S10e -> S25.
