openzine, 03 Mar 2014Samsung will always be a phone to beat. A product that only... moreHahaha yeah right. Xperia looks like a slate. Atleast it doesn't look like a bandaid. Xperia is built with proper care and premium materials. Not like Samsung mass production like a chinese shoe factory. You can identify an Xperia from another Xperia, all designs have unique features. Not like Samsung same old gloss plastic from low end phones to flagship phones. Yuck

Kobibrynte, 03 Mar 2014Samsung what has happened to your radio chip, why no radio ... moreThis a 4G LTE phone, it doesn't need the built in radio that requires the messy headset wires.
It can stream radio on the internet seamlessly without using any messy headset wires.
Or buy a basic phone with FM radio, you don't need a 4G LTE phone.

POS phone. This coming from someone who has owned every single Samsung Galaxy flagship phone. I was waiting for a better built phone with more innovative features. Extremely disappointed Samsung. I'm buying the Sony Xperia Z2 this year.

AnonD-237389, 03 Mar 2014It's all about ip58 and ip67,
Z2 has ip58,which mean it ca... moreUnlimited time? Under water? Geez.
Then the Z2 would have a "9" on the 2nd number for Ingress Protection. My wife is an engineer who deals with this sort of equipment acquisitions for engineering projects. An IP69 would be special equipment which stays under water for long indefinite periods of time. Unfortunately, the Xperia Z line up has flaps and have glued seals which will peel off after some time, as we have seen what happened to the first XZ.
Sony claims to have only a certain number of meters submerged under fresh water conditions. I believe it can't go beyond 2m, and only for 30 minutes maximum. Going beyond those will have water seeping in the water filament sheet protecting the audio speaker and the protective flaps for the insertion point start to give up because of the water pressure and time.

AnonD-188202, 03 Mar 2014sir xperia z2 water proof , water resitant
and s5-water pr... moreIt's all about ip58 and ip67,
Z2 has ip58,which mean it can withstand water immersion Below one meter for AN UNLIMITED TIME,so this mean waterproof
But s5 has ip67 which mean it can withstand water immersion for only 30 minutes, which mean it can resist ONLY 30 minutes,so s5 is water resistant phone,
but s5 is stronger against dust

AnonD-237389, 03 Mar 2014No,you took s5 so big,,and remember that only 2012 xperia w... moreLet's see... since last year, Sony came out with "flagships" Xperia Z, ZL, Z Ultra, and presently Z1. All have terrible battery life!
You either had to not use any of them so much, turn off notifications, carry the charger or a power bank, keep it plugged in while in the office, or all of the above just to get through the day till you get home.
It's so ironic that Sony had came up with such a sleek simplistic slab of a design that they forgot that battery longevity should also count. I wouldn't be surprised that this is the same case with the Z2 again. It is such a great injustice for all those who got sucked in with just the look.
All I'm saying is Sony should step up with battery life. I mean the realistic mixed used, all day notifications updating with internet on for at least 16 to 18 hours with at least 6 to 7 hours of accumulated screen on usage. It's such an injustice that they even kept the battery from being replaced with a fresh one.
Do you know why removable battery is still very much more practical than a non-user replaceable? I'll give you 10:
1. Better battery cycling and thereby longer life.
2. Just over a minute to get a full charge back than wait 2 hours to charge.
Here's how Samsung owners do it:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/92800985@N06/12560571723/
3. No need to carry the charger or a heavier power bank.
4. You have a choice of a third party extended battery, even tripling the capacity.
5. Safer to charge on a cradle than on the device as about 10% of batteries have chances to be unstable.
6. Reduces the chances of theft while charging outside the house.
7. An extra battery is smaller and thinner to carry inside your pocket.
8. When your battery finally gives up, you just buy a new one.
9. No need to pay for more expensive internal battery and wait for days to have it installed.
10. Your device becomes practically wireless without the need to plug in via the micro USB most of the time if you just charge the spent battery via the battery cradle.

+++++ Big plus it's removable battery, Samsung is soon alone with it. And we like that can always have two batteries with us on the trip. And better for the environment.
Congratulations Samsung!
But Sony Z2 has better spec. why Samsung?
