Look at the present midrange chips all lower nm than the SD 845 but the SD 845 still performs better than those. Stop spreading false info bruh

Gerald Damian, 18 Jan 2021It indicates the efficiency of a processor 64 bit always p... moreThe 'nm' stands for nanometers, and what that measures is the size of individual transistors in a chip. Think of a transistor as a gate that can either be opened or closed. Each one of these gates is considered an 'operation'. The larger the size of a transistor the less you can pack in a chip. So with 5nm sized transistors you get 2.5x the amount of transistors (maybe 2,500,000,000 gates) vs the 12nm S8+ (750,000,000 gates) meaning the chip that holds smaller gates can pump out 2.5x more operations per second, theoretically making it 2.5x "faster".

Every other operating system that isn't Android figured this out all the way back in 2013. I just want to know *why* phones with 32bit operating systems from 2017 are still being produced in 2021. I thought the whole point of owning a smartphone was to run apps?

anon, 03 Jan 2021Just a few hours ago, I had a relative bring this phone in ... moreI've not seen stutters or lags with my S8+ with almost 3 years of use and with 300+ apps installed. Sometimes, it is necessary to clean up the phone and apps as well as having something to control what apps boot up with the device and making sure that no unwanted apps are installed and any unnecessary apps requested during the boot process are disabled until you use them. It does require some third party apps, but its almost the same to me as running an old school PC. Don't forget to reboot it every couple of days.. I've been able to go a month without a reboot, although Android uses Java and because of that it starts to bug after awhile, its been getting better with each update.
