Zilo, 13 Nov 2021Good phone, bought mine 2nd hand 6 months ago, and the batt... moreLucky you. Thats the canadian version. Someone adviced me to always get the USA or Canadian version when buying fairly used samsung S'series phone.. Us version ends with 'U', While canadian ends with 'W'.

My old S8 has been in use since its release back in 2017. Amazing how so much time has passed and it still is working daily. I have since given this to my daughter and she can even use it for video editing. (Amazing!) despite its age, it is still a workhorse. She has since taken my wife's iPhone 11, so i may be getting this back. Will i make sure to take care of it. I even bought a Otterbox Defender case for it when it comes back to me. No regrets purchasing this phone after 5 years.

What a legendary phone this used to be, especially on samsung. I still remember everyone complaining over the position of the fingerprint scanner.

SAMIR, 27 Jan 2022What about SOT now i want buy one , pleaseStill have one (jan 2022). Would still be using it if screen didn't get broken and battery life lasted longer. But it really is a great device: operating system working excellent with no bugs, cameras decent for photos and excelent for videos on 1080p w stabilization or 4k, ip68 rating and its compact size is unique for these days.
Still, I wouldn't recommend buying one in 2022 for using it every day because of the battery. It's almost impossible to find one with good battery life, and 3000mah is pretty poor comparing with new devices.
But if you want one just for fun, make sure the screen isn't burnt, as it's common on these amoled displays, and that the screen wasn't replaced to keep the ip68 waterproof rating. Be careful, as the curved front and back glass are really fragile. One fall can ruin it all 😥

Catalina, 27 Jan 2022I think that's just nostalgia but I kinda get what you... more- Is not nostalgia. I am a 48 years old, working carpentry, and i use the phone as a tool. I don't treat the phone as a baby or doll, so because of my job, the most important for me is to keep it protected in wallet case. In rest ... it is doing it job. It didn't even break when I dropped it from 3 m working on a stepladder, and happened like 10 times to dropp it, because being big, i needed my pockets to put screws or tools, so i threw down, just to release my pockets. But i didn't threw it hard, just leaving to fall down from 3 m, but taking care to dropp it correct, to fall down flat, not in corners. But i repeat ... the phone have wallet case, so that helped. And it is still working in everything after like 5 years, and no scratches, no nothing, Just one thing ... the battery ... last less than when was new. But still is ok. I go from home at 6.45 am, the battery is 100 %. At 5 pm going from work, sometimes the battery is at 80 % if i don't touch it too much. Or 50 % battery if i listen music all day at work, but with the volume at 40 %. More volume ... more battery will spend. Or if i use the wasap, email, navigate on internet, as well those spend battery. So ... depend how much i touch the phone. The videos on internet are the worst, which drain the battery very fast. But ... even when was new ... the battery didn't last more than 4 - 5 h, using the phone without stop, wasap, emails, navigating on internet, videos on youtube. About games ... the one what i play sometimes in metro going at work or coming back is Classic Block. So ... when was new, the battery last 4 - 5 h using the phone non-stop. Now after almost 5 years ... 3 h using the phone without stop. Sometime i have to charge it again 2 - 3 times during the day. Because i use the google maps driving, the screen ON and the location drain the battery very fast. So ... depends how is used the phone.
Well ... i don't know what problems had another people with S 8, but this is the story about my S 8.
I wish all the best to all ! 🙏👍

I had many phones on my hands ... Lenovo, Alcatel, S10+, Iphone, Motorola. I helped a lot of people installing some apps on differents models of Samsung, Huawei.
But ... the Samsung S8 is the best. I have an S 8 from May 2017, today is 21 Jan 2022, i use it every day and it is still working in all the applications. Never failed. So ... for me ... the S 8 is a real tank. Even the S10+ was not like this S 8

ALPHABOY17, 06 Jan 2022Absolutely the best thing Samsung ever did. I still use it,... mores-series phones r d best phones samsung has ever produce ., i bought my samsung s8 december 2021 and it has better features than the latest android phones

Just got this phone this 2022, despite that its 4 years old but works just fine standing up to today's competition.
I am a heavy user as I use it for ride hailing app Bolt together with navigation but it responds just fine. No legs, smart UI although old but I still find it better than the tecnos of this world I was using
My down side is battery as it can't run 16 hours minus plugging it into a charge port. Otherwise guys, Samsung is Samsung. Gonna upgrade to the galaxy A32 this Feb to take advantage of the battery life

Absolutely the best thing Samsung ever did. I still use it, almost 5 years later. Still using Samsung experience on android 8 with unlocked bootloader. Still kicks ass , BUT the battery ran past thousand cycle mark. No need to tell more, just look at Samsung today, especially since s21 FE annoucement two days ago, literally shamesung at this point...

bought mine in 2018 and still using it today. dropped it and cracked the glass by the front cam so can't use it for selfies anymore, but it's still working better than any midrange phones released even today.
