Go to nearest shop and check s8 even 5 min of testing will give you satisfaction. Im using few days already and fuc**** love this phone. Every simple trailer on yt with 4k looks insane.

What it technically is is 10bit color as opposed to 8bit color. This reduces banding. Then there's a software layer preventing non HDR-branded screens from playing beck the same video.
Note that while it was supposed to be part of the HDR "standard" to acctually have a 10bit display, good contrast and good brightness, those are completely OPTIONAL for a screen to be "HDR". Meaning a low end HDR branded screen will be much worse than a old high end screen that doesnt support HDR.

there is a question running inmym mind again and again. i heard that this display supports HDR. so, is that mean this is a HDR display ?.....if it is then its good....if not....then what is the key difference between HDR support & HDR display ?
This got UHD sertificate tho.....

this phone is beast. I love that display quality. Every app/web/movie looks amazing. Performance is awesome. Phone of the year for me

Or If you could go for Iphone 8 that would be great!...Well I'm not saying that dont go for the S8,I'm just giving you my opinion.Also Iphone 7 will have more cases and accesiores because of Iphone 8!...

Anonymous, 21 Nov 2017Shame Iphone x is over-rated. :pYeah,Its overpriced thats true Mate.But Iphones has more value man!.I mean it has more value it has more accersioires.And also I have some bad experience with Samsung kinda,But that dosent mean it happens with everyone even my dad having S6 edge from 3 years and it didnt even lag.But man Iphones are better for me as my tasks are different.Though Android are awsome!I actually like Google Pixel more than Samsung.Also Iphones has no custimization,Its ok for me!.I atleast change my keyboard,Wallpaper,Apps icon,and many more.But its not as Android but still I love it!.I love both Android and Apple,bit again,Iphone can done tasks whish I want meanwhile I have some doubts that maybe S8 cant.Though S8 is amazing Smartphone in no doubt!...And I'm not very confident to say I will buy Iphone X! I may buy Iphone 8.Now I'm having an Iphone 5 and its still works very awsome...

Has anyone experienced the "black screen of death" in S8? Well, the display and lock screen gave me so much problem after a software update. There's a delay of about 15 seconds before the finger print scanner would pick up my finger print / home button would unlock the phone. Quite often the Always On Display disappeared and I got the black screen of death - when pressing any button didn't work until half a minute's delay. If my phone rang during that time, I couldn't see who called me nor could I pick up the call. I tried to fix the phone by wiping the cache partition, or opened it in safe mode, or deleted 3rd party apps, or reset it to factory setting, or changed display themes, etc. Nothing worked until I removed my Samsung Account. Now my phone is working perfectly after I removed the Samsung account. With Samsung account gone, all relating functions including Bixby is gone. How ironic. I would like to know if anyone has similar experience as mine. Thanks
