Hi There
All of reviews and articles about S7 Fe say that it has lag and not fast enough.
Does this tab always have lag ?! Or just in heavy usage for example heavy games and graphic apps and so on?!
If someone use tablet for pdf reading, note taking and some multitasking (for example using Chrome+pdf reader+notes app simultaneously) is there also be lag and slow motion ?! What about DeX mode?
I want to buy a big tablet for Reading+Note Taking+Web Browsing + using the tab in clinic instead of laptop for writing and saving the patients files.
In my country 64gb 5G S7 Fe is 30% cheaper than 128Gb 5G S8+ (S8 Plus is 33000 , S7 Fe is 22000)
Should I pay more? Or I can do my job with cheaper S7 Fe too?!

Catalyze, 13 Jan 2023How does the S7 FE have a better display than the S8? S8 is... morePlease read what I wrote again:
---
S7 FE has better quality screen - a bit of higher brightness, but way better contrast and black level. Actually, for an IPS panel it has really big contrast, and among tablet the highest ever I saw and we talk about measured contrast by colorimeter, not subjective feeling.
---
Pixel density is not everything.

Catalyze, 13 Jan 2023How does the S7 FE have a better display than the S8? S8 is... moreIn normal use, I cannot tell the difference in resolution between my S7FE tablets and my Tab S8 and Tab S8+ tablets. The difference in Pixels Per Inch is relatively small between them.
Although, I've actually found that I like my Tab S8 the best. Since it is so much lighter with only a slightly smaller screen.
Although, I will be looking forward to the Tab S9 and Tab S9+. Which should have a much better and more efficient SOC. Than the Tab S8/S8+ has. So hopefully they will have some great deals again, toward the end of 2023. So I can trade in my three Tab S7 FE tablets toward the Tab S9/S9+ tablets.
Assuming the Tab S9/S9+ get released in late Summer.

Software support is top notch as Samsung is the only Android tablet manufacturer with basically any support. Huawei tried but they got killed. Xiaomi and Lenovo are just lol.
I was positively suprised that most of Samsung and 3rd party apps can be uninstalled or suspended. However, IIRC Samsung in October pushed update, and now you can‘t get rid of upday news app.
As I wrote, turn off RAM Plus, and not having proper display calibration is shameful.
Samsung keyboard is a hit and miss for Latin handwriting. Sometimes it recognize whole sentence correctly, but sometimes it gets stuck and can‘t recognize two letters or numbers combo so you have to use on screen keyboard. Basically, if it works, I can write with pen faster than typing, but when it doesn‘t, it‘s just broken. And let me not start about Cyrillic support because it doesn‘t recognize anything. I tried for fun both hanzi and kanji, too, and of course, like Cyrillic, don‘t work, too.
Overall, if you need software support in Android tablet world, Samsung is the only option. Otherwise, go iPad.

I‘ll add some more observation.
Physical handling is bad as I already wrote.
Display viewing angles are ok, but not great.
It never gets even warm after heavy use, and it never throttles! They nailed it.
I am shocked how good sound quality is on just two speakers. You can even hear some bass, and it‘s pretty loud. It‘s good enough for watching TV movies and series, documentaries, not serious anime and similar. For the hard core stuff there is 3,5mm except there is not.
Samsung could easily add 3,5mm jack but we all know why they didn‘t. Solution – I bought Zooaux USB-C dongle. It‘s just 10 € on Amazon, build quality is pretty good, and it‘s proven by measurement that it sounds great. Don‘t buy Apple USB-C dongle in Europe as it has halved power on Android devices plus it has poor build quality. It doesn‘t have a problem to drive my headphones: Philips Fidelio X2HR and iSK HF2010. The other one is borderline.
Overall, hardware wise, it‘s one solid balanced tablet. For ~400 € RRP (4/64GB WiFi) there are only two real competitors – Huawei MatePad 11 (2021) and Xiaomi Pad 5 (Lenovo Tab P11 is way overpriced). Both are better hardware wise on the paper, but hardware without proper software support is a no go for me. At least Huawei tried, but they got killed by sanctions.

On 25.12, my SM-T733 (4/64GB retail version in Serbia) received almost 2GB big update - Android 13 and One UI 5. The list of changes is huge. There are many improvements and tweaks.
Even is Snapdragon 778G powerful enough, I tought that 2560 x 1600 resolution is overkill because there was always animation chopiness even if I lowered animation speed to 0.5x in Developer options. However, since A13 and One UI 5.0 update, there is noticable improvement. Chopiness is basically gone.
What is really annoying and killing this tablet is super agressive RAM management. It's horrendous!
I have now ancient T580, too which has just 2GB of RAM, and weak Exynos 7870 Octa and Android 8.0 and it has much better RAM management.
Also I have moto g PRO (Anroid One) with 4GB RAM and 128GB eMMC storage, and yet, RAM management is superb. There is almost no background killing of apps and I can use a lot of tabs in Brave Browser without dreaded reloads.
I simply can't believe how poor Samsung RAM management is. That's basically my main issue with this tablet. Yea, there few more, but they are hardware related. This is software issue which shouldn't happen on Snapdragon 778G SoC.
And even with that great One UI 5.0 update, Samsung still refuses to give Display calibration option. It's disgusting.
Furthermore, I found out in Settings that there is RAM Plus option which I shut down. And voila, accidentally dreadful agressive RAM management is almost completely gone.
TL; DR
Turn off RAM Plus as is murdering performance and destroying NAND (planned obsolescence).

emiljack, 12 Dec 2022camehere to ask this. with drm info it listed my s7 fe sup... moreDisplay indeed supports HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG. It's not listed here because Samsung doesn't list on their own pages, too. And they are not the only manufacturer who does that (I know for Motorola, too). Why they do that? Probably for marketing and validation reasons i.e. keeping costs down as every penny counts.

aaronwt, 08 Dec 2022With HDR content, my Tab S7 FE tablets gets brighter than m... moreYou are right about brightness and HDR.
There is more - even S8 has 120 Hz IPS LCD, its pixel response times are barely better then S7 FE, and that's just sad because pixel response times on S7 FE are medium-slow.

Steve, 26 Nov 2022Went to best buy in Canada and this and the Lenovo p12 pro ... moreActually Lenovo Tab P12 Pro doesn't have superior screen. It's just different: AMOLED vs IPS LCD. Both have their own pluses and minuses. Also, S7 FE doesn't use PWM for brightness regulation, and Tab P12 Pro uses low frequency PWM and some of us have health issue with it.
The main issue of S7 FE display is that Samsung refuses to simply add Display calibration option. It's disgusting.

Mr. Confuse, 07 Oct 2022I'm confused which to buy as S7 FE 6/128 (Wifi) or S8 ... moreWhich one has better screen (disregarding Refresh rate)?

Is 12.4 inch tab really heavy?
---
It is heavy, and hard to hold because of it as is big and thin. You basically have to use cover as for me is unusable without it and the cover further adds weight. I guess you can buy a tablet stand as another solution.

BklynMan, 30 Oct 2022This for all of Samsung Tabs (high end ones anyway.) I noti... moreBut it has microSD slot. I bought Kingston Canvas Select Plus 128GB. It's dirt cheap and very efficient way to expand storage. I have 4/64GB WiFi model, and 64GB of internal storage is plenty unless you are heavy mobile gamer which I'm not (I use PC for that + Steam Link works great), and I wouldn't recommend this tablet for heavy gaming anyway as is heavy and Snapdragon 778G on 2560x1600 resolution is a bit a too much.

with drm info it listed my s7 fe sup... moreJust like it isn't listed that is supports 6Ghz WiFi 6E. Yet it does.
The Tab S7 FE does do a good job with HDR. At least when compared to the Tab S8 and S8+. Not so much if you compare it to the Galaxy S phone line. Since the Galaxy S phones can hit much, much higher peak nits.

Anonymous, 02 Dec 2022Better get s7 ultra or s8+ for AMOLED screenWith HDR content, my Tab S7 FE tablets gets brighter than my Tab S8 or Tab S8+. I received my Tab S8+ a couple of days ago and was comparing the Tab S8(120Hz LCD), Tab S8+(120hz OLED), and Tab S7 FE(60hz LCD) screens with HDR content from Youtube. The Tab S8 was easily brighter than the Tab S8+. and The Tab S7 FE was brighter than the Tab S8 was.
For me, the biggest positive with the Tab S7 FE is the battery life. It smokes the battery life of the Tab S8 and Tab S8+. With the Tab S8 having longer battery life than the Tab S8+.
But, of course, the Tab S8 and Tab S8+ are faster. With the SnapDragon gen 1 SoC and having at least 8GB of RAM.

Steve, 26 Nov 2022Went to best buy in Canada and this and the Lenovo p12 pro ... moreOf course the Lenovo screen is better. It has a 120hz OLED screen. While the Tab S7 FE has a 60hz LCD screen.
The Lenovo P12 Pro competes with the Samsung Tab S8+. Not the Tab S7 FE. The Tab S8+ has a comparable screen and specs to the P12 Pro.
