      Anonymous, 16 Sep 2023What are you doing with 5 tablets? Use them as toilet paper?I have never liked moving my tablets around. So for years I've had one in every location where I mostly use them. One for the master bedroom. One in each of my two UHD setups, for when I watch TV. One for the master bathroom. And one for my main PC location. Where I remote into my headless PCs and headless servers.

      And I only purchase tablets when I can get generous trade in deals and cash back. Or also if the tablets are on sale. Further reducing my out of pocket cost. I used to only have a couple of the higher end tablets and the rest were the mid range tablets. But this year I decided to upgrade them all to the Tab S9 models. Since the SoC has been so good in my S23 plus. Plus they had a great trade in deal for my Tab S7 FE tablets. Giving me the same trade in value as my Tab S8 and Tab S8 plus.

My Tab S9 and Tab S9+ tablets look nothing like what is in those pictures. Even in Natural mode, they don't look anything like the washed out picture posted. And it looks like only some people have that issue. Other people have Tab S9 and Tab S9+ tablets like mine. That do not have any washed out issues with the display.

          I only know that I have a total of five Tab S9 series tablets now, and none of them have displays that looked washed out. Like in the pictures I saw on Reddit.

            I just setup my third Tab S9. It is just like the others. In Vivd mode all colors are over saturated. Not washed out. Like all my other Samsung devices.

The two I have do not have a washed out picture in vivid mode. The picture is the complete opposite. Vivid mode over saturates all of the colors.

              Just like it does with my two Tab S9+ tablets and my S23 Plus cell phone. Just like it did with my Tab S8 and Tab S8+ tablets. And also how it did with my S22 cell phone.

                  You might seriously have some eye issues. If that is what it looks like to you.

                  I know my eyes are fine. I get them checked every year. And most recently did at the end of July.

They tried to deliver it today. They are way oversaturated in the vivid mode. The natural mode looks, well natural. And has realistic colors. Too much punch with vivid, since it looks nowhere near how the colors should look. SInce they are way too saturated. Too much punch in vivid mode.

                        I also never use the eye comfort mode. Since that limits the blue light and makes the colors look like ass.

The colors matched my AMOLED phone nearly perfectly, but the Tab S9 had no punch, looked almost like a gray filter on top. Some leakster has tweeted about it. The Fold 5 has this exact problem. No idea what's going on.

                            Look to see if there's a power saving switch for the display, those modes often wash out vibrance to run the display with less power. I wouldn't be surprised if eye comfort automatically disables any power saving display mode as a side effect.

Same issue seems to affect the Z fold 5. No idea why they changed the vibrance. The workaround is turning on eye comfort mode on the lowest setting.

                                    For instance, the colors my two Tab S9 screens show looks like my Tab S8+ did and also how my Tab s9+ and S23+ looks. They look very similar. Comparing Vivid to vivid and natural to natural.

                                      a) it's using 10% battery for every hour of video with 60Hz setting on. Brightness is at 0-10% btw.

                                      b) the colors on my unit are washed out and look terrible. The vivid color option compares to natural mode on older units. Everything looks gray and lifeless.

                                      c) at an msrp of €900 this should not be the case. Tablets with older less efficient SoC's and IPS displays have around 4 hours more screen on time, for basically the same battery capacity.

Over 6Ghz WiFi 6E, I've had no issues streaming any UHD/HD/HDR content with my Tab S9 tablets. And, in my use, my two Tab S9 tablets have longer battery life than my Tab S8 had. They are getting close to the extremely long battery life my Tab S7 FE tablets get. I'll typically go twelve to fourteen days between charging my Tab S7 FE tablets.
