Mixl De, 06 Jul 2020Just search the internet for EB-BG715BBE. The EB-BG715BBE is not the 4050mah battery for the XCover Pro, despite ads claiming it is.

Is anyone who has used it personally, able to confirm that it can go VoLTE , and if so , on which carrier?

Verizon is a CDMA only carrier and you will need to make sure that option is selected before trying to activate the phone. Also make sure your inserting the SIM card into the primary slot (SIM 1) or it won’t work. I’m surprised Samsung and Verizon didn’t help you through this but it is also possible you were sent the incorrect version. If you don’t have two SIM slots that may be the case.

Doug Jensen, 05 Jul 2020Sounds like a user problem. You likely have the screen sensitivity set to high. There is a setting to change screen responsivity while wearing thick gloves.

I received my unlocked xcover pro a few days ago. Purchased directly from Samsung on their website. The rugged features seamed perfect for me, as I work outside, in the Northeastern US. However, I spend 2 days with verizon techs and a few hours with Samsung and never got the phone to fully activate. I spent a lot of time because I really wanted it to work. Unfortunately, both Verizon and Samsung gave up. I have to return this phone and shop for something else.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2020Doesn't appear as an app that you can make an APK out ... moreAPK Extractor from F-Droid worked fine on mine, but I don't want to upload some proprietary software somewhere. Besides, various APK mirrors have the app, called Samsung Radio:
            https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/samsung-radio/

Whether it works on a phone that does not come with it installed, that is another question. Might be some firmware blocking going on, then the app will not help.

This FM radio issue is really bumming me out. Anyone from Australia able to extract their radio apk and post somewhere for us to try out? None of the others work on the one I bought off Amazon (SM-G715UZKDXAA).

But if you want a phone for just the camera, then there are obviously better choices out there. Though it seems It decent enough when no digital zoom is involved. You can buy online through Amazon camera optical zoom adapters that you can attach to the phone. But it would have to be without a protective cover on it.
It would be would nice if OTTER BOX came out with a protective case where you could clip on their version of Optical Zoom Lens adapter that could be adjustable up to 5x optical zoom. That is quick clip on and clip off. So you that do not have to remove their case.

Similar to these ones at Amazon,
                      https://www.amazon.com/s?k=smart+phone+zoom+optical+lens&dc&ref=a9_asc_1

                      or these ones on Ebay,
                      https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=smart+phone+optical+telescopic+zoom+lens&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=smart+phone+optical+telescope&_osacat=0

With a cheap clip on zoom lens, this might be an ok camera for my uses. I still consider this phones camera to be a mid range camera, so far. I am going to do so research the clip-on Optical telephoto lenses and see if I can possibly make something work with my Otterbox cover staying on, so I don't have to take it off.
Samsung should have though this out. "Humm ...We will make a rugged phone, you can carry extra batteries, perfect for the hiker crowd. Oh and they like to take pictures of landscapes and animals..they will love it".. How about adding an optical zoom feature so we don't have to get real close to that Grizzly bear that we see off in the distance. Or zoom in on that geographic feature 3 kms away on another ridge line to make a better picture.
Personally I think adjustable optical zoom 3x should standard on all cameras. But thats just me.

I have sent pictures from the grocery store by text or have sent photos in email. All work as easy as ever, banking, map navigating no issues at all. I had a note 4 which is still a good basic phone, but this is solid.
Did a navigation drive for about an hour with my phone on and it hardly used more then 20 % of my battery. love it lasting all day and I dont let get below 20 and pull it off charge around 90- 95% most nights.
One tough rock solid phone so far and other software issues with browsers ( Firefox, Chrome, Puffin) or emails.
Camera I am starting to learn to work with its optical limitations

I am getting used to the downgrade from the Galaxy Note 4 to this. It does not take bad pictures of your regular family pics types. Did some low light shots and video with blood red moon rising in low dusk light. It preformed reasonably, well as long as you do not use digital zoom at all. Then you get some rough edges. Even with that by keeping the camera steady I was able to get some good quality low light pics of people holding the rising moon in their hand at 1/3 digital zoom. But basically a point shoot basic camera.
Earlier in I was taking tons pictures of a garden area at sunset. I tried out the "Pro mode" feature. This allows you to refine the colors/contrasts/tints and then take your shot, especially with shadows in the garden. Basically like using photo shop before you take the picture. It does help make the colors more realistic to your eye then how the phone camera is sensing them. But its like whats the point?. Just take the shot and modify at home where you have a bigger screen to look at the image. But I could see using taking museum photos or colorful landscape shots and will use it sometimes.
Someone said you can get optical zoom lenses you can slip over your smart phone lenses, but probably not with my otter box defender case on it, like mine. It would be neat if there is something like that so I can get away from cartoon quality pictures with max digital zoom.
Any one ever used those on other phones?.
