with regards to your concern
on the firmware availability
over the net, i suspect samsung company
does not readily make it obtainable
for the reason that they dont want to void
any possible warranty by indiscriminately switching from one firmware to another. it is available and readily offered in its certified samsung service centers. there, before downloading the latest firmware, you'll get your phone assessed too. this by which is another prudent and commendable customer service gesture from samsung.
my apologies for picking you right away.
anyhow, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and observation.

i550 user, 25 Aug 2008POOR SUPPORT for samsung phones? come on guys! the comm... moreI did not come here to argue with anybody else, nor did I say I hate samsung. What I didnt like is 1 week after I purchased this phone, i found out that they (samsung) has no online SW upgrading. I cannot admit that i550w's SW is perfect. It still needs improvement. If ever samsung releases upgrade, you have to go to their service center. Unlike some other phone where you can do-it-yourself anywhere, anytime as long as you have PC with internet connection. My brother's samsung D880 needs to be updated due to crashes. He brought it to samsung svc center. He was surprised when they charged him 1,000 bucks because its 1-year warranty was lapsed. Anyway, this phone is already with me (my first samsung phone) so i have to take care of it. You might be a help to me, do you know where to download the latest firmware for DX region? I've read that with this firmware, the GPS key is remappable & more improvements. Thank you in advance. CHEERS!

POOR SUPPORT for samsung phones?
come on guys!
the comment on samsung's "poor support"
for its firmwares are a bit out of place.
perhaps, other phome manufacturers may have
a handful of available updates on their lines
of phones may be because their firmwares are out of date. thus, the explanation of available firmware updates.
samsung may presently have no immediate
available update for the reason that
their in-phone firmwares are up-to-date.
this is the reason why.
samsung rules. this noise is a slight hiccup for this phone compared crashing applications and softwaress in some phones out there.

I bought this phone 1 week ago. No online upgrade of firmware like nokia's NSU. This will be my first and last samsung phone. Poor support from samsung.

Only for a small cause you are changing ... morei don't have a kind of problem like this...there's no noise, and all software is workable..i really love this phone..
i've tried to use motorola handsfree for listening music, and the sounds was great !! better than the original handsfree...
maybe anyone can recommend kind of handsfree with better quality for my i550w ??

They´ve already substituted the phone in the store, but the problem also happens. What´s the solution for this problem? Must I try another phone?

What about i550 silver , it looks like not like i550black, I think silver is better... :/ what you think and difference?
