Guys, how do I check if my GPS is working? I used apps like GPS Test and Speed View, both of which failed to get a lock on any GPS satellites . I waited for about 5 minutes.
I can't check GPS using Maps because I don't have EDGE or 3G yet.
Please help me. Thanks a lot.

I have successfully rooted my samsung i5801 and have installed live wallpapers..runs 100% perfectly without any lag... amazing phone .. with live wallpapers.. feel like its a high end android..

Which connection are you using? I am using vodafone live 2gb/month plan. I am not able to use any application (maps, market, gmail, gtalk etc) except default browser. I am able to browse from default browser. But not even from opera mini I installed. Getting some no network connection error. Any idea why it is so? I can use everything using wifi.

Hi Guys & Girls i want to share a few Words about SAMSUNG Galaxy 3...I recently Brought the Phone ..well about my experience ,each & every option including touch & software & Sound system every thing is very Nice & really awsome..All my friends are enjoying using the Touch Pad....Cool looking Phone & Nice style also....about the draw backs ..................................................................................BATTERY....................Thats only the problem as if now.......

I have clearly stated in my earlier message that "Tracking your move and marking your path on Maps as you move".
** A network based location CAN'T do this (as its the location to the network tower with which your mobile is connected.)
GPS takes some time to get fixed.the best time for me was within 60 seconds (or less)It tracked my position in realtime with great accuracy.So, I can assure you GPS works fine for me, right from the day I have purchased this cell.
And its been a long time, i haven't switched on "network based location", coz my GPS works fine for me.
DON'T try GPS inside room, Try getting under "clear sky" (avoiding trees) and it will be great if you can have good number of satellites for your GPS.

Actually the problem is that if i uncheck use wirless networks to determine my location and try to use GPS with GPS satellites then it dosen't detect my position.
Have u checked the wireless option or not??Becuse if u have then ur location is determined by the network carriers and not the GPS satellites.Please try using GPS satellites alone and let me know whether it shows ur position or not.

One simple fix is to create a dummy APN and switch to it when you don't need internet connectivity. Another is to kill all the data-savvy apps and turn off the auto sync option.

gsm, 26 Sep 2010my dear frend u dont need 3g sim ....i m using bsnl 3g sinc... morethe activation part is what i meant by enabling. it does not automatically become ready for 3g use right? i may be wrong here. just for my info. also i have seen that u need to pay 59 bucks for a 3g sim with more memory

Hey friends please let me know what your battery use shows as in my case when i see the battery use it shows that android system is using about 80-90% of the battery.Is anyone else experiencing the same??And is it normal?
