My omnia 2 comes with winmo 6.5.

the outlook mailbox i think u have to search in the properties and change them to receive all messages and not only the beginning.

cpu at full power is crazy, u have to charge the battery all time.

has anyone tried replacing "shutter 1,2 or 3" with silent wave file to silence the camera. if so did it work ok.
the shutter waves r in the rom and the phone gives me a stern warning about replacing these files

origami, 22 Oct 2009do you know when we can upgrade to WM6.5? Free? There is no official 6.5 update for the Omnia II. I flashed a unofficial rom but the phone thought I was German and some off the windows apps would not work.
I suggest waiting for the Samsung rom update. Lets hope its not long to wait.

it seems no body cares about the outlook mail bug in this phone as no one is dicussing about that. Mail attachments come in blank! Don't you all have same problem or no one is using the outlook application except me?

I have had this phone about a week now and its amazing.

video quality playback is awesome even though the color restraint (65k=Wm6.1, 16m=WM6.5) major props.

The CPU is awesome at full throttled. (800+ mhz)

gps also great i got up to 7 satellites! + street view.

as far as applications goes these are a list of app stores i noticed.

                    samsungapp.com
                    windows market place
                    and others

                    my current apps are:
                    google maps
                    flash player 7
                    and Need for speed undercover.

I would also like the remind everyone that this isnt an iphone/ipod touch, so dont try to use it like one.

Cant wait to update this phone to windows mobile 6.5 :)

this phone had great expectation for me and now im disapointed...:(

in the market, right now theres no other that i should swith for but when the htc hd 2 arrive , that will be my choice.

htc , for me, its the best supplier of this products.

                            Hi,

                            i have this phone.

before it had the diamond 2 and the hero.
unfortunately the hero doesent have viceocall,bt for transfer files, radio fm...

if it had, would be awsome!!!!

now, this omnia is not of what i had expected...
too laggy,u have to press too hard on the screen, samsung touchwiz sucks..(tf3d is miles ahead)

i'm going to wait and switch this for the new htc hd 2.
Hope that will be the phone thats suits me.

                                Re voice dialling::

I typed in www.handster.com to get to the site, it has all the phones there, esp samsungs. Thanks for that TonyJo, good digging.

The new Omnia 11 18000 is a great phone, it just needs a couple of the samsung techs to get in and back it up. I am going to see how the link from TonyJo below goes. It could be just what is required to address the disgraceful voice dialling imbalance in samsungs. I just bought it.

I agree about the outgoing text alarm too, its a real pain that it can't be adjusted to suit.

                                      High tech

WinMo6.5 Might be out by christmas for samsungs, its only a maybe. I only hope they have some repair patches on it too, there is a few things wrong with the default setup. I'll keep pestering them.

The new Omnia 18000 clould be a very good phone, but it has a couple of problemms that are very easy to fix for the samsung techs.... will they do it??

The audio alarm for an outgoing text message can't be turned off, or even just reduced to a vibrate. This is VERY annoying to people that use texts while others are trying to rest. All other samsungs have the option to turn this off, why remove that option with the new phone???

There is still NO voice recognition for the bluetooth/handsfree app. A great many other mobiles are using WinMo6.1 or the new 6.5 due out soon for samsung, all those other phones have voice dialling that works; except Nokias, they used to have a good system but have 'fixed' it. Now its broke.

These are very easy things Samsung can fix to assist us, the customers. If everyone contacts samsung to address these and other anomalies, we will all get somewhere.
The samsung techs DON'T read this site, unfortunately, so we have to call them ... and do it persistantly.
