hey, thx anyway, i saw ur post about touchpal, which is very suit to me, the keyboard from samsung is very small, which's make some mistakes on typing. now its bigger :D ... and about touchpal dial, i agreed, when from samsung, its a bit late to switch from dial to contact.
but can touchpal slide like samsung? i mean, when u search the name, just slide to right to call, slide to left to message.
what do u think about xperia P compare to s3 mini? the price is about same ( about hardware i thought xperia p won), u know it, right?

Yeah, the 'Google Play services' is on my phone as well. Just tap on it, scroll down, and read the permissions it requires under System tools....
change network connectivity, connect and disconnect from Wifi, draw over other apps, make app always run, modify system settings, prevent phone from sleeping, toggle sync on and off, write subscribed feeds.
Frightening, isn't it! And that isn't the only one doing it!

Thanks man...last 5 days i only installed Dropbox(i disabled the auto-uploads),but maybe that app is running in the background eventhough i dont see him in the application manager under the running processes...
Tonight i will uninstall it,delete all the music and movies i downloaded through that app,gonna reboot and see overnight if it changes anything and let you know...
btw in the Application manager i see this Google Play services app,besides the Google Play Store...is this normal? or is it another app running since i tried to add a credit card to my google account(didnt go all the way,changed my mind and canceled it midway,don't wanna add my working credit card in case of theft...going to get another visa card just for google with limited funds)...

The Android OS figure on my i8190 is currently at 18%, which about average. If yours has shot up to the figure you claim then a 3rd party app is sucking your battery dry. Keep an eye on your data usage... Settings/Data usage to give you some clue to what is going on.

My 3g(HSDPA) is off most of the time,i barely use it...and i use wi-fi only in average...
During night i switch off both my 3g and wifi...something else is eating my battery and cant figure out what exactly...
i just noticed on settings-battery that the Android OS has spiked to 42% of usage and it used to be between 22-25%...god damn it,what the heck i did in last 5 days to change the battery usage dramatically...my battery life has been cut to half now :((

WP is a closed system i.e. you can't change anything. You are stuck with what MS give you, and what they give you is awful (I purchased a Lumia 820).
The Samsung keyboard is dire, but there are plenty of others you can install. I use one called 'Touchpal keyboard' which suits me fine.
The dialer on the S3 is slow, it takes a few seconds to appear. I installed 'Touchpal Contacts', which is extremely fast, better looking, and supports 'Gesture dialing' which I find very useful.
The messaging app is pretty good on the S3 Mini, but the Lumia one is awful!. There is a good variety of 3rd party ones for Android.. GO SMS Pro, Handcent, Pansi etc., but I use Chomp, which is fine for me. You don't have that option with WP phones.
That's my opinion, but it is up to you.

Do you turn 3G and wifi off at night? Some apps like to keep a connection alive, and even if you have closed it, it will open again in the background.
3G is the biggest battery drain on a phone, with it on you can virtually watch the level drop.

The problem doesn't lie with your phone, it has done what it is supposed to do - it has connected you to a server/modem via the inbuilt wifi. The answer lies with the uni's software. Are you sure there isn't an option to login on the webpage when you load it?

Ok,now i have this battery problem...ive been using this phone almost 2 months now and during night sleep(6-8hours) the battery drainage was minimal,between 3-5%...
Eversince 5 days ago the battery drainage overnight has increased huge amount,now i get between 30-35% battery drainage while i sleep...
I didn't change anything on the phone,just installed dropbox app,made a google wallet account so i can buy apps and downloaded some pdf books for reading...
i close all apps on the task manager before i go to sleep,so any ideas whats keeping my phone awake at night instead of going deep sleep???
any suggestions would be appreciated..thx

No, I use 'extended' batteries on both of my phones. a S3 and a S3 Mini, without any problems. Just make sure that you buy a reputable make, cheap Chinese ones are definitely NOT recommended.

Hi Guys, kindly help me with WI-FI connection. I'm a university student who want to connect to campus WI-FI. The phone does connect, but the problem is that it does not provide me with "pop up screen" so i can authenticate my credential, ie. student number and password. I can open a university webpage, but as soon as i put other pages it gives an error message because i did not put my credential. Kindly help

You don't need to download GPS software, it is already installed on your phone. Just pull down your Notification bar and you will see the icon to turn it on. Then just use it with the Maps application which is also included on your phone.

I don't know what else to suggest. I'm not a fan of this 'Social Media' craze because I protect my privacy and would NEVER have a Facebook or Twitter account.
I know for a fact that you can never leave them completely; I have friends that have cancelled their accounts and months later decide to rejoin. As soon as they register their email address their account instantly reappears and it is as if they had never left. No thanks!
Perhaps someone else with a F/B account might be able to help.

It makes you think that it goes deeper than just an error on the part of Samsung because a lot of people have been complaining about it being missing, and if it was as you say then Samsung would have released an update by now.

Yeah, I was so angry I downloaded the 4.1.1 RO... moreRipple Effect is there.
They just disabled it in framework-res.apk by accident.
framework-res.apk is apk that is responsible for one part of graphic interface. Among them is lockscreen.
You can enable ripple effect by modifying framework-res.apk and recompiling it again (needs root). Or check XDA Developers forum. There is a fix

no, it didnt work on push message..
the strange think happened is, usually, when u open fb apps, it appears the blue page with FACEBOOK. but since the download icon (of fb) appear, when i opened the apps, it didnt appear the blue page..
it just straight to the my home page
