i don't know why samsung did this change on the 4.1.2 upgrade, but im quite angry at them since i bought this phone(over the htc or xperia) just because of the unique water wave thingy :p

as of the latest firmware update 4.1.2 jelly bean ,sadly samsung removed the ripple effect on the lock screen :((
It is a very sad day for me since that was the feature that i loved alot,it was making the device diffrent then the other companies(htc,lg etc)...

I dont know whay the heck samsung did this, but there it goes(also the ripple effect has been removed from the S2 as well with the 4.1.2)

So if u wanna stick with the awesome ripple effect lock screen dont update, keep it to 4.1.1(the upgrade is allrdy going over the air for some time now)
                :(((((

Direct call is pretty useless, but here goes.
Setup: Go Settings/Motion and turn it on. Then tap on Motion and tick the top box (Direct call). Now return to your Homescreen and choose Contacts. Choose the contact to call and lift your handset to your ear. The phone will call the contact.
The thing is that having Motion activated costs you battery life. Not worth bothering with.

-mustang-, 27 Feb 2013how to use svoice?@ mustang

What do you mean by "How to use S Voice?".
Do you mean turn it on? If so, you can activate it by double pressing the Home key twice in quick succession.
If you mean "What can it do?", then simply try it. Ask it a question.
To those who DON'T use S Voice....
S Voice waits for the user to press the Home key a second time, which causes a delay (lag). Open your App drawer, start S Voice, and press the left soft key. In Settings, untick the option marked 'Open via the home key'. You will find it removes the delay when you press the Home key.

I've been using this phone for a week now and it's my second Android. So far, I have no complaints at all!

                                Key points from firsthand experience:

                                1. Contrary to some reviews I've read online, the quality of the photos is actually great! Although the pre-installed Samsung camera was okay, I installed Camera360 to make the experience much more fun. Also, the panorama mode was quite a surprise since the picture quality was great with it too. :) .
                                2. Great audio quality.
                                3. Works well with Viber and Skype.
                                4. Games run smoothly without any lags.
                                5. Jellybean is awesome and I am loving this phone as I use it day by day.
                                6. The battery life is good even if I used 3g and played games the entire day as well as taking occasional pictures.
                                7. Quick touch response.

overall verdict: Must buy! Hopefully, I won't encounter any problems with my s3 Mini. If ever I do, will most def. update this post. :)

Two sim slots? I don't think so. There is one sim card holder and one micro SD card holder.
If you have inserted the sim card correctly and you are receiving a message telling you that there isn't one inserted then your phone is locked to a different network than the card you are trying to use in it.

There are two sim slots in the phone. I tried putting the micro sim in the slot where the sim sign is shown, but for some reason the phone says no sim.

Does it need a special sim?
