Guys the device is spectacular except for the following disadvantages:
1-power hungry
2-lemgthy and shitty software update process
3-auto lock and auto usb charging which cannot be disabled.
3-A little bit heavy and not so much ergonomic.
4-very stupid headphones (completely not ergonomic
but otherwise its realy rocks especially the music player when coupled with sony MDR E818 HEADPHONES with their sponge pieces.
-for a good anti virus there is an f-secure which is specially suited for this i8510 although its trial but better than nothing, the link:

Hi, I just got it for the camera but I am disapointed, nokia camera makes better shots, even 3.2 megapixels.
Megapixels are not the only aspect of a pic, also resulotion is needed, samsung resolution is about 72 DPI while nokia is 300. big difference.

hi ,
can any1 please tell me if u can lock
this phone when it is slide open .
I know it gets unlocked but is there a way to
put a p/w or code on it when it is slide open.
can any1 plz answer asap.

IF all else fails ask your operator if something is up,,WHY??? because they hated wi-fi because you could use voip and it would kill their revenue and it was disabled in n95 etc to stop voip calls..
I have never seen a set up for wi-fi except the router ....You just search connect and add passphrase/password and your in..
I have just installed y-browser as system explorer i have used on nokias does not work as yet because i am trying to find my dictionary..The only thing i can think of was wen i first got innov8 i updated straight away and maybe it got deleted..Still a great fone i just hope as symbian is going or is open source os something so all nokia apps will port to other series 60 devices whoever makes them....

Go to web then settings and then open up general,,you will see access point set this to always ask..scroll down jave/ecma script and make sure thats enabled..
NEXT return to homescreen..Then press menu button,,go to settings,,scroll to connection and open and this is what i have,,access point,,internet,,multi media msg,,wap services,,.....Under internet it says 2 access points and when i open it up i have my wlan name and VF isp...So check if your wifi network is in any of these settings..VF just means vodafone..
Staying in connections tab scroll to Wireless lan and open up,,my settings are show wireless lan and its set to "never" and below that it says internet connectivity test and mine is "ask every time"..
Return to home screen and this is what i do,,
press menu or if its one of your shortcuts to get to web app and open,,i then scroll thru bookmarks to the site i want to visit ie bbc mobile and select..Then the barbers shop stripes go along the screen and it says search for wireless lan OR internet OR wap...I select search for wireless lan and in 2-5 seconds i am presented with list of all wlan..I select mine and it does the barbers stripes saying connecting,,,,I then have to enter my passphrase and ok it and it does the barber shop stripes and up comes bbc mobile..
Next time i connect to web because i selected always ask i can just nip straight to wifi internet or select wap or just internet via gprs/3g/hsdpa..
I hope this makes sense i read it twice and have one last option..Is your network hidden???

Mine is I8510DJHJ4 dated 7/10/08 and custom version date: 30/09/2008.

brynn, 25 Jan 2009I tell you what i would like to see and that a battery repo... moreyep that's what i need brynn and thanks so much. i am still reading each and every comment/experiences thru here and forums locally... i am getting into innov8's charm against c905's.... there are a lot of bad reviews with it over satisfied personal experiences.... though i am not quite sure if the firmware update will do the thing... hardware still count..

Samsung... morei am replying to this via wifi..so no probs...can n95 use fone loudspeaker whilst shut if yes then we need to find out an app for innov8..have not ventured into u tube yet cause still getting used to fone,.We and others need to get searching for apps that work with innov8 and just had thouhht that samsung g810 is series 60 so going to start trawling thru that forum 4 apps...This fone is top notch but needs some 3rd party apps to act like nokia but with all the power of vid/cam/mp3 clarity etc

Thanks for the reply. Yep, ur right. Samsung does not want the Innov8 users to have a Crystel Clear screen for long, hence the non-avialability of the Screen protector. As for the TV-out cable, I am already using my N95 8Gig's cable with my new Innov8. As for the applications of the same S60 3rd Edition not working on different handsets/brands in some other thing and thats the Catch, Really!
Anyhow, would greatly appreciate if you/someone could emphasize and advise regarding the 2nd, 3rd and 4th clauses of my previous message/post. THANX again!

Also own a Nokia N95 8GB... moreI never got screen protector either and got it sim free and box was fully seald both ends..The tv out cable from n95-1,,n958gb,,n82 work in innov8..This is how you do it tho,,once inserted i kept selecting headset out etc but if you scroll down to third option on innov8 it say tv-out,,iam stupid..The nokia apps are for nokia but hopefully things will be available or get ported for other series 60 mobiles..The way series 60 works gets me bacause when using second edition symbian when i changed fone ie from nokia 6630 to 6680 some apps would not work and its same with third edition..IF its series 60 3rd edition it should work on every fone in the series 60 3rd edition platform so how can some apps not work on exactly the same platform just a different fone..???

Just bought this phone 2 days ago. Also own a Nokia N95 8GB. Unpacked it and found that there wasn't even a Screen protector Sticker. Guess my dealer beat me to it or Samsung did not bother to cover the Display. Was also surprised to find out that Samsung did not even bother to include a TV-Out cable with this high-end gadget. Anyhow, been checking out the features and am quite impressed with build, Cam, Video, Playback, sound, optical pad, keypad, Auto rotation and I am sure that there are alot of other goodies that are yet to be explored by me. However, there are quite a few things that have really let me down in disappointment and hope that there is some solutions to them.
1. Really miss the 3D rotating view in Gallery folder (images, videos etc.), like the one in Nokia n-series phones. I wonder if there is a S60 supporting third-party application to acquire this effect.
2. Even if this has the Real Player, I have been unable to play utube (flash) vids on the handset. GSM Arena Review mentioned that playing Flash vids was no problem on this phone, however I find it otherwise. Any suggestions?
3. Unable to use Wi-Fi Connectivity. It detects my Wi-fi router, however does not start browsing/data transmission giving the message "no gateway reply". Just to inform that there is nothing wrong with my DSL Broadband connection/WLAN router, as my 2 laptops and my N95-8GB are working fine. I think the UPnP technology of N95 has paid off here. Any suggestions are welcome!!
4. Does not have any loudspeaker option during a Call while the slider is closed . Can only use loudspeaker while the phone is slided up.
Do hope that do not find any other flaws in this Phone after further usage!

Innov8 rocks! Try it n u'll know that c905 nothing compared to innov8,their cybershot are crap!

can any 1 help me i hav the 16gb innov8 and cant find the privacy lock does it even hav it? I hav checkd in security and still nothing. And also hw do i do and upgrade on the ph so that is up 2 date thx, any 1 plz help
