i am impressed with samsung's new phones like the omnia & i8510. The guys at nokia must be scratching their heads right now. But there is no clear winner between the n96 & i8510. You might want 8mp camera. Your friend might want tv. Just buy the one that you like most. I have 2 questions. Can you use the optical mouse in the menu? & can you apply your own pictures as album art?

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970IF your in the UK go to the CarPhoneWarehouse website and purchase it with contract. If your in the middle east you can buy it from all Axiom Telecom Retailers. If your in the US your tough out of luck. None of the providers like T-mobile & AT&T bring high profile phones. You can try Ebay.

dont compare samsung i8510 innov8 with n96. theyre of different class. samsung innov8 is an all- rounder focusing on camera & music. nokia n96 is also an all- rounder focusing on video & live tv. samsung innov8 has an 8mp camera that gives the best image quality among all camera phones today. it also has the best sound quality among all music phones. while n96's camera is a downgrade from n95's camera. n95 has a focal length of 5.7, n96 has a focal length of only 5.2. and n96's camera has a smaller lens than n95 so it gives worse image quality than n95.

Hi I have had this phone for about 10 days now and overall it is what I expected, However the btery life is to be blunt rubbish. If you are lucky it will last 24 hours on standby not the 300 hours it is supposed to. I perhaps wouldn't mind if yo could buy spares for it but, no, and samsung ase behind on there website to look for solutions. I have read the Sony Erikkson is supposed to be an equal if not better. I am no expert but I would rethink before buying, who knows maybee some one will bring out a better battery.

I've been an N95 user for the last 18 months and I just upgraded to this phone because it also uses the Symbian OS. Chose it over the new Nokia N96/N85 based on a few features: USB charge, 8GB, 8MP camera, touch pad, micro SD, button layout and overall look.

First impressions... Looks and feels great. Heavier than N95 but shallower so more pocketable. No faster than N95 but not slower either. All in all I'm happy with the choice.

I don't like that the OS has no Search program on the standby screen as I had in my N95. I also will miss sportstracker (if I can't get it to work) and at the moment handysafe won't sync with my PC.

Also the Samsung PC Studio is behind Nokia's PC Suite. No synching of bookmarks, no phone updater (yet). Also Samsung UK's site still lists this phone as "coming soon" and there are no links to software/manuals yet. Soem links are there bu go nowhere :-( Come on Samsung!

So if PC integration and the range of Symbian software are important to you, go for a Nokia. If you must have an 8MP camera or just like Samsung, this is a great choice. Even more so if you have never bee spoiled by nokia's great device support.

I suppose it's early days and support/updates might improve in time.

I had the N95 from day one and the videos I recorded with it have had a purple tint to it no matter what firmware I was on, even including the latest. Also the N95's camera both picture & video is completely useless at night. If you want to buy the new N81 go for it... I mean N96.. they all look the same. ;-P (Bulky, cheap plastic material, and Ugly)

this phone has no rival as of this time. se's 8mp c905 is not a smartphone, as well as lg's kc910. samsung innov8 is the first and the only 8mp camera smartphone. this phone does not only focus on camera alone. it's an all-rounder. don't say that it's just like a copy of n95. n95 has a very poor music player with an awful sound quality dressed in a poor build casing, while samsung innov8 has a dsp sound chip that gives the best sound quality in the market today. build quality is miles ahead than any nokia smartphone. this is currently the best s60 smartphone to date, and it's not nokia.

I've now had mine just over a week. Best mobile ever made. End of. I had a couple of Samsungs a few years ago (D500 & D600) I've had a shedload of SE's, a few Nokias, an LG, an HTC a Moto, and this destroys them all.

Although I still want one of these:

I have just bought the New Samsung i8510 and its simply cracking it has the same operating system as the Nokia N95. The only difference between the N95 and the i8510 is the 8 megapixel camera and the 8 gig memory card which can be inserted on top of the 8 or 16 gig mass memory which is already installed on the phone. The google maps sat nav is a big improvement on the N95 aswell the Nokia maps takes ages to get a satellite position but the i8510 comes through within a minute sometimes even faster and it also has route 66 navagation on this phone aswell but the plus points for me is the extra memory and the camera which makes this mobile 10/10
