for people with problems flashing firmware:

uncheck the "boot" option under "download option" when you get the error message of uboot or whatever. you will be good to go. i have flashed my phone 20x like this, and it never given me any problems.

Like symbios said, then use PC studio to get the latest update of XXI2.

        Symbios,
Sir, I've read your comment about rose's query re the camera between HD & N86. I would like to know whether it's only the flash tha
        t makes N86 camera
better? How about picture quality (colour, sharpness, lens, clarity, etc) of shots taken in the phone & when transferred to PC?
What are the Pros & Cons of each device?

Another thing is how's the audio recording quality of the i8910 through video & normal voice recording? Is it great, at par w/N86, or better?

Last query is about internet & flash compatibility of the HD? Whether it has it & would be at par if not better than Nokia's?

Thank you very much,Sir. I'm still confused & unclear about w/c phone to get since I'm choosing between the 2 & would like to take good pics, surf the net,& do some audio recording, as well as office editing. I'm thinking of getting either of the 2 & truly hope you could shed light.

        Thank you very much.

                        Nokia N86 vs Omnia HD

Omnia Wins everything except camera - flash is only available with the default camera settings on the Omnia HD(which is only one setting) but the flash is available with every camera setting on the Nokia N86....the only plus for the Omnia is that the pics hold alot more detail and the flash is alot whiter......if u love always having ur flash at ur disposal then DONT GET THE OMNIA.....but its miles ahead of the N86......

The Moto Milestone is an andriod based phone and adroid has alot of third party apps/software....

since u have only used symbian in the past, android would be a fresh start but a good one....the UI is up to date and youthful and colourful...plus its new so it can only get better.....the milestone is a great phone as well....if i had the choice i would say Omnia HD only because i really really hate Motorollo....

i know i promised these links since yesterday but I only got the chance now!

the first link takes you to the file which has a tutorial video, symbian flashing tools and all the
                                    drivers you will need and

the second link has some additional firmwares including the XXII1

important - this can only be done using windows xp

                                    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=duo1jdkl

                                    http://samsungi8910omnia.com/i...e-downloads/

after both files are downloaded install all the drivers in the first download, the i8910 drivers must be installed as well!
after all the drivers are installed just follow the video step by step! now put your phone in bootloader mode as demonstrated
and u'll notice some more drivers automatically install! now the download button should be highlighted!

too those of you who plan to use the i8910xxii1 firmware like me!

the following must be done in the pda_code_i8910xxii1 folder:-

now this may become a little confusing or complicated or both ;)

                                    1. in the pda_code_i8910xxii1 folder create a subfolder called "uboot"

                                    2. copy the "nb1" and "nb2" subfolders to "uboot"(do not "move" the folders, be sure to only "copy")

                                    3. go to the "core" subfolder and copy the "i8910xxii1_xxx.rom.img" to "uboot" folder and rename to "i8910xxii1_xxx.ubootldr.img"

                                    4. in the "uboot" folder create another "uboot" subfolder(yes another one)

                                    5. now simply copy the renamed "i8910xxii1_xxx.ubootldr.img" file to the second "uboot" folder

                                    6. now in the rom flasher, untick the "boot" option next to "format"

                                    7. finally click the "download" button on the rom flasher

the flashing process takes about 2-3 minutes

make sure your phone is fully charged and ensure that you make a back up of all your data!

                                    good luck guys!"
