                    Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Dear Sandy

I know that the standard quotation for the Omnia HD in Mumbai is Rs 29K. I bought my phone from Mobile kingdom Vashi. It's just outside the railway station on the right hand side of the main road.

Since I live in Navi Mumbai, I didn't have much chance to inquire about price in other places like West & South Mumbai. I am sure if you do good, you can surely bag a better price (Again avoid malls & very big showrooms). In my case I got the Omnia @ 27K on the condition that I buy a bluetooth headset costing Rs. 3300 (which is an ok price for a stereo bluetooth headset; I need it to avoid taking out my phone for safety reasons during Local Train Travel and still be able to listen to music & receive calls.) So I actually spent Rs 30300 for both the things.
If you need any more information do not hesitate to contact.

This phone is great on paper but when it comes to prcaticality, its a question to be tossed. Not such about you guys, but from where I am, Samsung themselves don't promote or advertise this phone on the media. I'm told that they are promoting the Omnia II and now the Pixon 12 more aggresively. Reason being, the Omnia HD lacks applications and its merely a video phone (That's it). Besides, the 8MP is useless with a single led flash, you're better off with N97mini or Satio.

the overgrown size also does not help. I thought they did a fantastic job with the Innov8 but they've let this slip by... probably overconfident. Pricing is also very different. In Singapore, you could get the Omnia HD 16GB for less that SGD 950. In Malaysia, the 8GB alone costs MYR 2799 and the 16GB is MYR 2999. What sort of ridiculous pricings ... i can understand one needs to make profits but no to this extent. Dissapointment all round!

On the other areas of your priority, definitely Omnia HD is better as far as the camera is concerned especially when watching videos. The touch screen of Omnia is only second to I phones. For me, Omnia HD music quality is better and a better all rounder compared to N97.

                                      My basic requirements would be:
                                      -camera for taking good pictures.
                                      -fast and easy internet access.
                                      -watching avi videos a lot.
-battery life atleast close to 2 dayz.
                                      -multi-tasking.
-simple user interface. (my palm and fingers are small- will that be an issue for operating that huge Omnia HD with one hand?)

Now should i go for Samsung Omnia HD or Nokia N97 ?

I m considering buying a phone between Samsung Omnia HD and Nokia N97. Which one shud i go for?
                                        ¤Camera- Omnia HD~ 8 MP; N97~ 5 MP.
                                        ¤Screen size- 3.7 Omnia HD; 3.5 N97.
                                        ¤RAM- 256 for Omnia HD; 128 for N97.
                                        ¤Capacitive versus Resistive touchscreen.
¤Internal memory- 16 gb for Omnia; 32 gb for N97.
¤Physical Querty Keyboard- N97 has it.
¤Video support- inbuilt Divx/XviD for Omnia HD; Smartmovie support for N97(choppy videos at times- no core playr yet)
                                        ¤OS- S60 v5~ both Omnia & N97.

Now i m bit confused which mobile to go for? Omnia HD or N97.
